Question of the week:
Who are your favorite video game devs, if any?
Shameless plug-in for a certain Discord server:
The biggest Nargacuga I’ve ever seen in Monster hunter. For a second: I thought you second the country “Nicaragua.”

Thanks a lot

It was gold crown largest. I don’t remember the actual size I forgot to write it down. lol But it was a big ol cat dragon.

I do CB and HH depending on the group and the monster. CB in Sunbreak is so much fun though. So much more mobile and the wirebug Arial SAED just dumpsters. HH has some weird moves but if you hit right you can stun the shit out of stuff. Also the sharpness regen song is just… Just so gud.
And yeah gold crown smallest are hilarious like “I want to keep it as my pet.”

Yeah that’s a few ppl in my squad. lol. I generally just don’t have time to dedicate to a wide variety of games so I just focus on a few I can actually play and beat. Also I’m a tight ass and don’t spend a lot of money on games. lol.
I will say the end game of this one is suuuper grindy and it kills the fun for a lot of ppl that don’t like to grind. At the same time it also adds something for the ppl that actually like to hunt repeatedly for the sake of hunting so that’s nice. I haven’t gotten my late game HH set down just yet so I’ve been running CB. I do more utilitarian focused builds instead of raw dps. Doing ridiculous DMG can be fine and all but I like being able to take hits and generally have a little easier time and my dps isn’t THAT much lower cause I have so much up time. There’s a new skill from Gold Rathian that basically turns you into the juggernaut when the monster enrages. Makes you immune to tremors, wind, ROARS, etc and adds some defense. Like… Uh yes please? Like the monster enrages, I get the buff, the monster roars from it’s enrage, but I am now immune and just SAED it in the face. lol

I feel pretty worn out at this point. I just did the MR70 quest. Now I have to grind to MR100 and it seems to far away. Maybe I will continue at some later point.

Ah, I’ve heard good things.

Awesome! I’ll probably play Yakuza: Like a Dragon later today.

I just finished Cyberpunk 2077 and having a hard time figuring out what to play next. I am trying out “The Outer Worlds” now, but just cant get into it.
The Outer Worlds wasn’t that good, from what I heard.
If you like fantasy then Witcher or Dragon Age Origins if you haven’t already played them… those were the last 2 I remember leaving me both satisfied and empty after completing them lol
Still exploring in Elite Dangerous.
How active is the community still? I played back before you could land on planets and shit. Being a space bounty hunter was fun for a while. Never got up to a Python which is, imo, one of the coolest of the ships. It’s kind of reminds me of if the Delta flyer from Star Trek Voyage had a bigger, tankies brother. I always wanted to get one and just go exploring but I never got that far into the game before all my friends stopped playing.
As far as I know, still rather active, though admittedly I play mostly solo, so I didn’t interact much with wider community.
There is a communist-theme player faction, the Communist Interstellar Union, that I used to mess around with. I haven’t really participate with them that much anymore because, well, I’m an explorer. I hardly get within 1000 lightyears of any inhabited systems to begin with.
Noice.
I’ve recently beaten Gone Home, which was beautiful and great (I was reading a book about walking simulators and it is such an important game I really needed to play it after so long); then I beat Penumbra: Overture since I played Amnesia: The Dark Descent earlier this year and I wanted to see how Frictional’s first works were, it is certainly inferior to Amnesia but still good considering it was released almost two decades ago and it had some mechanical and budgetary limitations and what not; yesterday I finished Finding Paradise which is the second entry in the To The Moon series, which was pretty good; I’m currently 8 hours into Deus Ex (and oh my god, what a game I have to say, so much politics involved, criticism of post 911 “terrorist prevention” policies, vigilance of the populace, the cause of homelessness, even stuff like capitalism making you live with diseases such as COVID-19 and so on, I am truly speechless at the marvelous of this game).
Alternatively, I’ve also been playing Pokémon Unite and Stardew Valley with some friends; I’ve reached master rank on Pokémon. B)
The original Deus Ex?
Yeah, AFAIK, the rest of the franchise deviated completely from the politics in the original and it is only some bland cyberpunk bad corpo shit.
I’ve never played through the original 2 Deus Ex games, but I have them both on my computer through GOG.
Despite its flaws and Sinophobia and a bit of neoliberalism, I think that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a fantastic game.
I can’t bring myself at the moment to play through Mankind Divided, since it constantly demonizes the former Soviet Union for liberating Prague, and waxes so much sand about how evil the Soviets were.
I’ve heard that the gameplay is really good, but I didn’t know that the story was interesting, too
The game play is fine, in my opinion, you have some rough edges, jumping is ridiculously stupidly bad, managing your inventory is tedious and the rest is fine, it’s not a super fast paced shooter but I really like that, but the best part is the story, totally, I can’t think of a video game with this much politics. Maybe Spec Ops: The Line, but it’s not so direct, and it does not have so many discourses about real life, plus Deus Ex predicted the future, SOTL is a critique of modern intervention in the Middle East.
nice
Shit, those games like great
Been catching up on FFXIV lately. Wish I had a good traditional pvp fps to sink my teeth into, really box up the competitive urge for good again; but there’s really nothing for that that doesn’t suck off the American military in some way anymore. My favorite genres are all dead.
I getcha.
Started Skyrim for the first time a few weeks ago. I was sympathetic to fighting the Empire, but the Nords are like racist confederates. So my orc ass ain’t supporting either.
Empire is better, tbh.
Just got back into Rimworld.
awesome

Oh nice, I’ll check those devs out.
Songs Of Syx, but it’s so addictive.
I’ll check it out.
I got a basically new Quest 2 for cheap so I’ve been pirating every VR game out there. Playing Half Life Alyx of course, but Resident Evil 4 VR is amazing. I never played it before but it’s scary as heck in VR.

Oh damn, I should try VR.
- Osu lol, as well a nice new visual novel called siren’s call.
- 3d platformers and RPGs for sure
QW: Nintendo 😭😭😭 EPD more specifically. EPD did make lees than great games in the Wii U era
I have a brother that loves visual novels.
Been sinking even more hours into No Man’s Sky lately. Advancing my freighter base is a bit of a pain, trying to plan its layout is even worse. But I got a top tier, rare squid-nose exotic spaceship by pure chance, so that’s nice
I’m hoping to get into No Man’s Sky sometime soon.

Nice! How’s it going so far?
deleted by creator
but I like finding it myself.
I feel that! It’s just more enjoyable to feel this sense of achievement when you do that on your own. And yeah, Devs really have been dumping new things into it. Pirate missions, settlements, etc. Basically you can just do what you like more.
deleted by creator
That’s actually a good and wholesome idea, I should try it

oh kewl
I am not a heavy gamer and I played mobile games with low processing requirement like Influence (Russian language by default with English language option), Stick Wars: Legacy, Territory War web game, WWII trading card game, and a few puzzle games. My favorite genres are abstract (for simple visual interface), creativity games that is about creation of something like cities or characters (fiction writing is a substitude for this type of games), and strategy games. I also like to read stories so games with a developed story interest me.
Yeah, same with me.
