Holy fuck, i knew he was a lib but i didnt know it was this bad. Mf was a candidate for the Liberal Democratic Party of Slovenia too in the 1990 elections in Yugoslavia. What a piece of shit traitor. He supports the CIA funded libs that destroyed yugoslav socialism and has the gull to call himself a communist. What a fucking tool. He needs to get the wall. Cant wait for him to rant about how Matrix is real communism in front of the firing squad. Fucking bastard.

Yeah, his quirkiness, and his emphasis on media criticism as opposed to materialist analyses of production that appeals to “intellectual” / champagne socialists and college liberals, is why I think he’s so popular with the western left.

I never liked him, even when i was a leftie liberal. It seemed so stupid to me his incessant comparisons of communism to hollywood movies like Matrix. Not that theres anything wrong with Matrix, i like that movie and its definetely a good movie and has political themes. But its one thing to make a comparison between communism and Matrix once as a thought experiment, and its another to base your entire politics off that. Its just stupid and screams western privileged nerd so much.

Hes 100% an asset. He was a member of the Communist Party of Slovenia for decades during Socialist Yugoslavia, so he definetely knows marxism leninism. He left the party in 1988 and joined the slovenian liberal and separatist CIA funded opposition. He wasnt just a random naive student mind you, he was 40 years old and had been a Communist Party member for 20 years. He became a prominent figure of the slovenian opposition and ran for the 1990 yugoslav elections with the Liberal Democratic Party of Slovenia, a liberal and separatist party. He still called himself a communist for some reason. Hes either an asset or an extreme opportunist doing anything to stay famous.

We must stop letting imperialists define the terms of the Ukraine crisis

A question like ‘Did the Russian invasion of Ukraine cross a line?’ forgets the fact that it was Ukraine & NATO that crossed the line that’s been established for decades - by threatening to deploy nuclear weapons and murdering thousands of ethnic Russians on Russias doorstep

A question like ‘Did US intelligence-sharing with Ukraine cross a line?’ forgets the fact that it was Russia that crossed the line – by invading Ukraine

We really don’t have a defense for the intelligence sharing, do we? We committed an act of war for a conflict we’re not involved in, but don’t talk about that. Keep talking about Russia.

What a American dog, the problem is that when this conflict lasts longer the worst will be the post-war period for Ukraine and the rest of Europe, which will suffer a gigantic increase in far-right terrorism and militias.

Americans don’t give a fuck about Ukraine. Nobody wants to go to war with Russia over Ukraine. This article talking about redefining terms and redrawing lines. This whole article is an art of what it critizes. The terms are that Americans don’t want to go to war with Russia. The red line is America antagonizing the Russians. Ukraine doesn’t even have to be mentioned. Americans don’t care. The majority opinion hasn’t moved from where it was a century ago; “let Europe go to War with Europe. They are European affairs”

I kind of disagree that Americans dont want to go to war with Russia. Sure they dont “care” about Ukraine but Ukraine isnt really the issue and Americans dont care about any country anyway, and many just care about the integrity of their own exceptionalism and if that takes nuking east Europe and Asia then that is frankly on the table. The issue is Russia but Ukraine is, along with Trump, one of the many moral entanglements that US politicial discourse is capitalizing on. Russia is seen as the one sending us on a path towards a “just” war. When have Americans wasted a good casus belli? This idea that we just want European problems to stay in Europe has been so thoroughly underminded by the last 100 years of history that im surprised it still gets brought up.

You’d have a point if Americans marched to the drums of the Capitol, but they don’t. There’s a reason the US doesn’t bring their wars to a vote. They aren’t popular.

They are unpopular for intra-bourgeoisie reasons. Not out of anti-imperialist or decolonial aspirations.

No doubt. I think Americans are far from class conscious. I think war is unpopular nevertheless. It’s easy to believe certain things because of how they’re portrayed by the media, but the media presents a completely false reality. Not only are they lying but the foundations on which those lies are built are also lies.

Yeah I think its basically an entire cultural lense that grew from colonialism and imperialism and it interprets information in a way that reproduces itself. Its like a capitalist cosmology. From my experience, to break out of it I had to basically recognize and admit I was born of a nation that is a long festering, highly developed, disease of history and has completely wrecked the entire ecology of the planet. When I first was interested in class and Lenin I did not yet understand my own place in the class system but ML thinking as well as decolonial thinking has given me a chance to put it together more clearly.

Not easy to admit the entire process that defines you has brought the apocalypse but if someone wont do that, then I doubt they can understand proletarian revolutionary class consciousness because the global class system doesn’t easily develop proletarian class consciousness in the US by design. Even with the present downturn and the major contradictions, working people in the US are better off than most of the rest of the world and this combined with colonial cosmology is what crystalizes the embourgiousiement of the US working class into a political weapon that is used to reproduce the global class system.

I figured that out when he said Lenin wasn’t a Marxist. Wtf do you think he was then? I kinda like his voice and he’s interesting to listen to, but he’s so caught up in “modern philosophy” that he gets up his own ass and winds up sounding stupid. I think if he had someone there with him to sorta ground him in reality then he’d make more sense but he’s full to the brim with polemics and sophistry.

He denigrates Lenin because he didn’t have a “formula” of what the world would exactly look out as his theory played out. Surprisingly, this is a bit hard to do when the average person only lives for like 60 - 80 years and not centuries wtf??? The reason it’s called theory is because it’s…fuck nvm.
