Fucking angloid breadtube guys… I was watching a vid on piracy and this fucking white Anglo cis dude had to vomit this nonsense “the soviet union was fascist pretending to be communists” I haven’t been exposed to such brainrot in a long time

It surely is the most delightful way to be reminded you can never escape the ideology. At least I don’t lose anything not watching that guy caus he had a pretty irritating tone and humour with his typical anglo cracker smugness, even when talking about social justice issues I actually agreed with. I pray the allmighty youtube algorithm to identify my leanings so it can purge the bullshit out of my recommendations /s

Seems I’m not the only one who keeps getting that shit recommended to me, dude must have paid for some algorithm boosts or something, or maybe Youtube knows my views and is intent on mocking me.

For an assignment at my new study I had to write down my life story until now and reflect on it. What I expected to be a short summary with some reflection turned out in a multiple hour long typing session and a short novel of more than 10.000 words.

Maybe I’m a bit full of myself lol. Weird to see your life in a text-like form.

It did allow me to add an inspirational figure that is driving me forward, for which I chose Marx.

So do you think the capitalists will kill us all by the end of the year?

    • With “caring” in scare quotes. I don’t think the vast majority of liberals actually cared about the civilians dying, or they would’ve pushed for a peace settlement rather than continued war

Theyre prefectly happy to let all the ukrainians die if it means russia losing and they can feel smug about themselves winning over russia. Meanwhile thoughts about a post war ukraine thats now filled with weapons, poverty, and destroyed infrastructure are completely ignored

It’s not just you. I think they’ve seen that idiot Zelenskiy so much that they’re just sick of him at this point. People will stop caring about stuff when they’re being bombarded with it non-stop for months on end.

For the first day in I think 6 entire years I have asked for a sick day today. I’m never sick, I put in extra hours at work, I don’t even have a bad employer.

But I still get nervous while doing so. I’m actually sick, I feel warm and short of breath, so far no covid it seems, but I still have a feeling of doing something wrong lol.

    Life under capitalism.

Lmao @ the worldnews post on Putin. Do libs think he is the sole commander of the Russian army?

They treat it like it’s a game of Total War or something

Diversity classes are a bit weird lol. I got a list of movies to watch for an assignment that had diversity themes. Some of em were okay, but Black Panther the marvel one was also on the list lmao.

But, I have to say, that it is an incredibly important class to have. Everything discussed in it is inherently marxist as it is an analysis of how our society functions as a whole.

I understand the pushback it receives, because the rich, white, western view of the world gets questioned in it.

I’ve unofficionally teamed up with an anarchist in my class and we’re constantly raising marxist talking points and it seems to have a good effect on the rest of the class. Amazing.

There’s word that Microsoft is starting to remotely shut down windows systems in Russia.

    • The fact that they’re even able to do that is more than enough reason to dump their shite as soon as possible. Presumably nothing too serious is using Windows with Internet access, but it could still cause significant damage

Schools, various commercial structures, very likely government institutions (i.e. the tax service), and many others

Can’t say for all of them, obviously, but yes I would imagine at least some systems - i.e. for receiving digital accounting reports - would require an internet connection.

And while I agree in principle regarding the usage of proprietary software, it was simply convenient.

As an artist, fuck AI-generated art. It started as a funny novelty but it’s gotten too good lately, and that’s gonna be terrible for workers. This shit is gonna put all but the most original artists out of jobs, that is, the elite 1% with the best material conditions that lead them to improve their craft the most and make the best art that AI can’t replicate (yet). Your average commercial artist or illustrator working under a non-creatively-inclined client that doesn’t care about originality will go out of business because of this. AI researchers apparently have no intention of stopping, it’s only a matter of time until they manage to make perfect AI-generated anime or even AI-generated music.

The average person does not care where the product is sourced from as long as it meets their needs: chocolate, gold or diamonds could be made by literal slaves, clothes could be made on highly polluting sweatshops, and music could soon be made by a machine ripping off/combining songs made by real artists who are neither being paid nor credited for making the training data, the consumer none the wiser.

I don’t get what need is being solved by developing this monstrosity, I mean, even under socialism, what good would this be for? “From each according to their ability” means artists should be able to self-actualize, work as artists and LIVE plainly off their art under socialism since this is their best ability! We need to employ every single human artist out there! We artists LIKE making art! We’re not being freed from tedious jobs by having engineers automate art; believe it or not there are artists/designers who actually enjoy making design languages and corporate clip art, as making everyday tasks into aesthetic experiences is a meaningful job to them! We should be giving them more chances to make the world a prettier place, not take them away!

Why is no one consulting artists on this, what exactly would they like to have automated, and what they wouldn’t? Fuck.

I agree completely. I don’t think there’s enough talk about the ethics of just grabbing someone else’s entire online art portfolio and putting it in a program that generates more like it without even letting the artist know. And then they’ll try and argue that artists are all influenced by other artists, yeah, that’s true, we tend to like being emulated by other fellow human artists, what we don’t like is being mechanically ripped off for commercial purposes without credit, compensation, not even permission by an AI.

It could be great if we could direct these developments towards automating certain menial tasks that artists don’t really like to do, but no, this is trying to get rid of the artist altogether.

Just had a walk yesterday and saw the most beautiful view of a small street. There’s a gated factory building on either side so its shielded from the worst of the sun with tall walls and its has specially planted trees on its side. I didnt go in there though because I worry I’ll end up at some restricted site.

I am re-reading State and Revolution, but in Dutch, and apparently it’s written in this incredibly dated form of writing.

Like, imagine someone from 1910 writing it, that’s how. Even the English version, which is translated as well, seems more modern.

I wonder if we could modernize it somehow.

I’d suggest maybe putting a redirect to /c/genzedong on ports 80/443 of https://genzedong.org and using .well-known or an SRV record to direct matrix clients to a different port. That way, people who go to https://genzedong.org with their browser get redirected to the actual lemmygrad community, while people who access it via matrix get sent to the homeserver, and it would all be seamless for users if set up correctly.

Edit: for reference, my .well-known files look like this: client, server

I sincerely hope this is just an error on the part of the previdence authority but basically my father who was fired went to require welfare, but he was denied it because someone stole my identity and used it to require a serie of parental welfare checks, amounting to not less than 300€ a month, we are now battling with the welfare authority to 1) discover if its an error or a scammer and 2) have our money (and my identity) back
