WW2 history is officially being flipped on it’s head. The people who defeated the Nazis are being called monsters and the Germans are being treated like their victims.
It’s been there since WW2, but it’s becoming the predominant narrative. Poland, the Baltics, Ukraine, Eastern Europe in general and Germany, they’re now establishing, weren’t liberated by the Red Army, but merely changed their oppressors for one even worse than the Nazis. The fascist narrative of the raping, murdering Soviet army is popping up more and more again. They’re pulling down Soviet memorials all over Europe, criminalizing the symbols of their liberators on liberation day.
The displays of the Soviet flag are now being judged as a symbol for the “condoning of an illegal war of aggression”. As you said, history flipped on its head.
