France! Hong Kong! Iran !1!!1! Revloution of our times!!!1!! (Im a massive liberal)
Seriously though I’m not sure a solid socialist revolution will happen before new global power dynamics are strongly established.
In a world order where the US becomes irrelevant and China becomes the hub, my bet goes to a massive Pan-African movement
There’s a color revolution going on in… France?
No but a lot left-liberals had big hopes that the Yellow Vests were going to do anything and hold this cliché that the french are such big revolutionaries which is bs
I mean they did the French revolution a couple times. The Paris commune is the birth of the socialist movement. Every major 20th century socialist leader outside of Fidel and Che spent a significant time in Paris. We’re talking Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il Sung and the like. They aren’t the center of socialist revolutionary theory in the 21st century but France has an important history that can’t be dismissed. The yellow vests were overall a positive movement.
Yeah historically there was a lot of things but right now they are completely incapable because anticommunism made them reject the bare concept of organising to take power
I always love the monthly, “who will have a revolution” as it allows me to reflect on my understanding of the world.
I will say, most of the periphery is siding left, but that does not necessarily mean they are having revolutions rather than an anti imperialist social democracy types. Still a great thing but not the best thing.
Latin America is becoming tightly knit, good chunk of African governments are kicking European establishments out, Large parts of Asia are already independent or semi autonomous from imperial grasp. Now even, with the US sacrificing its vassals, struggle is serious in Europe and revolutions could go either which way. You can even see the US population getting deeply agitated.
Now some countries where there has been an ideological base and struggle was already persistent, my mind jumps towards: Greece, Swaziland, Philippines.
World struggle is coming faster than we know it, and I can only hope that we will ride the wave.
Greece
Second mention of Greece in this thread. Do they really have a strong socialist movement? Any resources on socialism in Greece?
Hoping my own cos there are some pretty serious groups forming up
Greece, Italy, India, Phillippines
Really Greece and Italy? Like I can see that they maybe have stronger socialist movements than Northern Europe, but I don’t really see them as realistically having a revolution any time soon. Then again I’m not that familiar with either, and don’t speak either language so can’t really research primary sources.
I don’t really think any of the countries I listed as having a revolution any time soon. I am basing my thought on levels of unemployment and general contempt of neoliberalism in general.
Living in Italy, I see a second fascist arise much more likely than a socialist revolution, the huge majority of people that are unhappy with neoliberalism criticises it from the right, the youth doesn’t have a future, but they/we don’t eve have a present, our voice isn’t heard, but unfortunately the right wing is “stealing” the young from us and as such, they have numbers, political support (our new government is openly neo fascist) and money (gladio op never ended) I’m not that hopeful even if I try to be.

Again? 😒
One that has the worst material conditions and the most class conscience proletariat.
Idk maybe South Africa
I think there is a possibility for a peaceful return of socialism in Russia
Certainly not peaceful. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again - the bourgeoisie in post Soviet countries very much love their newfound status and are quite aware of what socialism would mean for it
Capitalism is like the bullies you meet in School.
The only effective way to get them off of you is by fighting back and putting them in their place.
Eswatini currently has a large movement led by the Communist Party to overthrow its king. It could lead to a socialist state if they win.
Eswatini
Does it have any expensive natural resource that would attract the attention of the imperialists?
Not that I know of, but it is the only country in Africa to recognize the ROC and is an pro-US absolute monarchy like the Saudis.
Well then I wish best of luck to the communists there. O7
all of them, eventually 🙃

The potential of a Communist USA would be immense.

I mean people can desperate without wanting revolution also America is still trending toward fascism

America will probably have 2 different countries if they do have a revolution one a liberal democracy run by fascists and one communists like what happened after nazi Germany

Hopefully some of them more radical And realize electoralism doesn’t work

I think the OP question imply a socialist revolution, not a fascist one.

CIA in here looking for tips
I’m not cia lol
Sounds like something the CIA would say 🤔
Is the consensus that “demsoc” countries like Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Nepal are pretty far from a true revolution?
If Nepal manages to establish a Socialist State, do you think the PRC would offer Nepal to join the PRC and become one of its states, given that it’s just below Tibet/Xizang?
If so, then this would mark the return of the USSR.Tbh I don’t think Nepal would want to join, nor would China let them join. Maybe they would revive something like the COMECON, but idk.
They’re a step in the right direction but not all the way
Kinda hoping Canada will but I highly doubt it at this time. Maybe in the near future as I’m not that pessimistic about our chances.
It will probably never happen
It’s important to have revolutionary optimism. It may not happen in the short term, but at some point, if people continue to organize, it’s more or less inevitable
So said Lenin, a few years shy before USSR was established.
Well at least they had actually has communist forces fighting the evil empire in a war
Peru. Greece or Germany, depending on if the center or periphery folds first. Pakistan almost certainly. Libya likely in the near future. South Korea probably.
