The ancient rule that men love war and women love warriors so that after each war an abundance of children easily exceeded war losses, while damaged cities were rebuilt and expanded in dynamic post-war reconstructions, seems to have been forgotten

What is this supposed to mean? War is OK because after it people can rebuild and reproduce?

The ancient rule that men love war

If only there were living survivors of the last great war in Europe who we can ask about whether they still love war.

Oh well, better send the young men out to die.

It’s like when you prune some branches off a tree and it grows back stronger and prettier but only with human beings instead of branches.

Then they will proceed to carpet bomb the tree and let corpos freely poison the water when placed in power.

Well Josep Borrell said that Europe is a garden.

You prune a garden, unlike those savage unkempt jungles. And you’re very selective about what you allow to grow in the garden.

I looked at the author’s profile and wow, makes a lot more sense now how he’d arrive at such a twisted statement:

His most recent book is The Art of Military Innovation: Lessons from the Israel Defense Forces

Why fix NATO when you can use NATO’s fiscal policies to plunge Europe further into austerity, deindustrialise them and push down labour costs

I think that’s the closest thing to a coherent take here. Europeans don’t “see” their imperialism as clearly as Americans do - as long as it’s happening somewhere far away, like in Africa, then they can compartmentalize it - but commitment to NATO like this author wants would require them to raise substantial, visible forces, which they’re not ready to do right now because unlike Americans they haven’t been fed intense troopaganda for the last fifty years.

TBH I’m not sure I buy it. Euros might not be as bloodthirsty as Americans, but the Ukraine War pushed military budgets into the stratosphere. If it came down to it, Europeans would absolutely rally together to kill non-Europeans in the name of the Euro’s strength as a currency.

I think Europeans would be cool funding proxy wars and sending weapons, but I doubt there’s appetite to go and fight themselves to be honest.

I could see them wanting to fight if they continue thinking that there is no way they will lose. Perhaps while trying to get immigrants to fight for them too while saying that’s good for immigrants.

From what I’ve seen, public opinion is very much against the war in Europe. The ghouls running the EU will try anything they can to keep this going, but my expectation is that it’s just going to result in their downfall in the end.

Scroll a bit down and you see what it’s about:

Europe’s welfare state grows as defence spending falls

This comes from one of the wealthiest nations in the world which let 5 thousand people freeze to death last winter cause they couldn’t afford the rising heating costs.

Which also happens to be ruled by a monarch who’s main job is gun trade.

Literally not true. It is only a couple of days ago Jens Stoltenberg, succdem Norwegian ghoul and chief political commissar of the NATO organisation, went on TV and bragged about how his merry band of American satellite states are spending more on war than ever.
