And for $120,000 each, too, when they’re actually priced at $7million…lmfao

Russia should just give the blueprints to North Korea. What’s the West going to do, sanction them again?

Don’t think the current relationship between Russian and DPRK governments is that warm.

Well current Russian government is not socialist for one, and was working hard on getting on the west’s good side. Additionally, IIRC there were tensions with regards to DPRK’s nuclear testings, some of which were happening near our border

Not to underestimate the DPRK, but Hypersonic Missile technology popped up there pretty fast after Russia got the hang of it…

That could be PRC sharing. China also has hypersonic missile tech. Although if you are right, that would be quite interesting, and I will gladl admit being incorrect.

Well, it’s about time to warm them up. Two unlawfully sanctioned countries more or less in China’s sphere of influence and Russian capital has abandoned all hope to integrate with the rest of the first thieves world. Nothing to lose, only pure profits. Can fuck with Japan together for one.

That’s smart, they should just start selling everything they are given. That would be a win, a win against being used by the west.

I’m hung up on why Russians would pay money for this stuff. It’s just being abandoned full stop all as Ukranian forces realize they’re fucked and run away.

One less piece shooting at them. Also they could donate/resell it to LDPR’s forces, they use everything.

Don’t put Russia on a pedestal and underestimate the West

I doubt reverse engineering can be particularly useful (EDIT: fire control systems are apparently pretty modern) since soviet and even later russian artillery was always top notch, but this is so incredibly funny and they got it for pretty cheap.

Control elements could be interesting. I’ve read posts from Russian military correspondents (working in DNR), they seem to be of high opinion on US artillery directioning systems (not sure if I’m translating it correctly).

Those are french guns, seems like pretty modern ones, and according to the quick search they boast the fire control systems are very accurate so yeah, those would be useful.

Most artillery pieces the Ukrainians are getting come without the fire control systems, precisely because the Americans are scared they’ll fall into the hands of the Russians. Idk if the French thought to remove the electronics before sending them over.

Uncritical support. To the FBI agent reading this, this is the exact shit I will do if I get drafted. Either sabotage, sell info to the enemy, or directly kill friendlies.

I was gonna say you can’t stop profits even when you’re in the middle of a war, but damn at the loss they made lol

The loss was paid for by French and US taxpayers. The officers realized pure profit.

(they didn’t actually made any loss because obviously the officers didn’t pay for them themselves, and they were happy to offload them as soon as possible)

I wonder if, after reverse-engineering the fire controls, Russia would put the result of the research for sale to countries like China, DPRK or Iran…
