Wikipedia had also deleted a page about an Alley of Angels, a memorial dedicated to the children killed by the Ukrainian shelling of LDNR.

How exactly does this work? I feel it is like:

Amerikkan: " Satlin bad because Georgi ORwell 1984"

      Soviets: “No”

Amerikkkan: " you defending Staline 😡"

      Soviets: “And you’re lynching negroes”

      Amerikkkan: (screams in imperialism)

Also putting “doing” in quotations to imply that Ukraine hasn’t been bombing Donbass to dust since 2014

I looked at the page about the lynching catch-phrase and it’s also called “whataboutism”

Truly the most stupid term ever invented, it’s literally just refusing to level the play field so whenever someone summons whataboutism there can be no debate anymore

The idea of “whataboutism” is beyond infuriating.

It’s declared a logical fallacy when in fact, invoking the “whataboutism logical fallacy” in debate is ITSELF an implicit combination of multiple logical fallacies. Kafkaesque doesn’t begin to describe it.

Exactly, I’d even say that one of the most important rule of a debate is that if you are proven to be hypocritical you lose. But whataboutism is making look like proving the opponent hypocrisy is actually the fallacy. So basically if both sides respect whataboutism they can both be hypocritical and accuse each other of absolutely anything

Whataboutism is just debate. When you don’t want debate it’s a fallacy. We can’t have people making points or bringing context to a conversation because that would threaten the monopoly the Ukrainian state has for moral concern.

It is so irresponsible how this war is portrayed, but that is the point. It’s just disappointing how many intelligent people are caught up in this. Many are in deep. I have a Russian friend that gives valuable insights from their family in Russia and is able to properly translate things. It is mind blowing the difference in narrative. US inoculations against the truth are widely effective and the population is eager to accept them.

There is a debate where esha from the historic_ly podcast makes an excellent case for the left moving past Chomsky including his support for imperialism in Syria, etc…

I tried to understand his politics but it’s inconsistent and weak.

As always in case of liberalism, objectivity is just a rhetoric trick to push their own agenda. And in case of anything related to imperialism, they thrown out even that.

My country of China may play a neutral party trying not to offend either Russia or Ukraine… But I stand with Moskva and Donbass all the way. The way Europeans looked down upon Russians has always had an anti-Asian yellow-peril undertone. So I say fuck their ‘garden’ up good!!! Z

several news outlets go out of their way to specifically refer to russia as asiatic, it bothers me so much how no one seems able to see that considering russia asian to draw a line between “us” (europeans) and “them” (“asian” russians) is the same fucking thing hitler did.

like really? no one is smelling the yellow peril tropes here?

Killed children and elderly is just war propaganda and don’t forget to add 100 ‘’ ‘’ for every other word in every sentence while describing genocide going on for 8 years. Then go and parrot literal Goebbels writings and ‘‘genocide denial’’ about famine from from 90 years ago
