I know how I’m supposed to interpret it but ever since the first time I saw that slogan I perceived it more like a threat.

US News•Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever and it's costing the economy

This may sound silly but by any chance do you use soaps and detergents with a lot of scent/perfume? Some people in my family used to get chronic headaches until they switched to scent-free stuff.
All I can say is “I, too, like to write fan fiction to help me sleep at night”

Technology•A ‘demoralizing' trend has computer science grads out of work — even minimum wage jobs. Are 6-figure tech careers over?
4·3 months agoThe alt-text on that image tho: “Mature bearded Caucasian man feeling upset after being resigned from successful company.” 😅
It pains me to say this as a person who has enjoyed Star Trek since I was a kid and seen every Star Trek ep/movie (up until it got all JJ Abrahms’d and dystopic), but Gene is a real creep.
Here’s a video of him in an interview saying some really weird stuff pedo-ish stuff about children. TW: creepy pedo talk
From the banks angle: banks are one of the biggest criminal institutions who are notorious for financing terrorism and drug trade, at least in the Netherlands. Here they are trying to ban cash transactions above 3000 EUR even when it has nothing to do with banking. That aside from banks’ worldwide predatory loans and financing. You bring up great examples. I would say we are definitely regressing in terms of our rights. Techno-feudalism is already here, they are just finishing the last touches of it. Sorry for the stream-of-consciousness comment, I’m in a very upset state today due to the nature of things.
That’s okay, the Dutch will just keep fracking their northern provinces and causing mini-earthquakes which severely damage the local residents housing. Then the government will gaslight them about it for decades and eventually half-apologize and offer insufficient compensation for their own citizens to rebuild. Another scandal swept under the rug by the oh-so-pragmatic Dutch government.
(I should have written this in a proper past tense because this already happened)

Palestine•100,000 march for Palestine in The Hague as Europe marks Nakba Day
12·7 months agoThey did indeed, but despite the great optics of 100,000 people dressed in red shirts ‘drawing a red line’, it was in realty full of liberals (including several liberal party representatives who voted to send weapons to Israel) who were shouting down activists who tried to start chants of “free Palestine”, “from the river to the sea”, and other popular slogans we know.
After the march there were several photos of these red-shirted libs in Starbucks and McDonalds, both of which are on the BDS list and have been specifically targeted by activists. Dutch-leftist twitter and instagram has been abuzz about this and there have been quite some pictures, screenshots, critiques, and warnings about yet another anti-Zionist movement getting overrun and watered down by establishment liberals in the 11th hour after so much of their willful blindness.
Meanwhile every other pro-Palestine protest in NL is treated violently by the police, even today the day after the big fancy redshirt protest. To be clear I don’t mean that as a dig against Nakba Day, but against the apparent average attendee. I do sincerely hope these libs start to wake up and actually speak up but this march yesterday was an “approved parade”.
Please excuse the rant, it’s been bothering me all day.

Technology•Mike Waltz Accidentally Reveals Obscure App the Government Is Using to Archive Signal Messages
3·8 months agoYes I’m 100% sure. The archive function operates almost identically to Whatsapp. As far as exports, I recall Signal used to allow you to export your chats (both encrypted and unencrypted IIRC) but I don’t see it in the settings anymore. But to be fair I’ve been using it since it was still called TextSecure so maybe that function was removed a long time ago. The last time I recall exporting a Signal chat was around 2018 or so

World News•Calls to ban Labour from Pride: If you won't stand with us, you can't march with us."
9·8 months ago100% agree Amsterdam Pride is a corporate-led joke. I can’t even stomach going to the boat parade anymore, makes my blood boil. Bunch of capitalists, warmongers, and fascists (but I repeat myself) pretending to give a F about marginalized groups without a single hint of irony. Plus the grandstanding of government-approved performative issues of the year (pro-Ukraine and pro-Israel), August here we come.

Hang in there comrade, and to comment similar to another here: for the love of all that is good please never ever ever consume synthetic cannabis again. It’s really dangerous, doubly so for a person with PTSD. Spoken as myself some who also has PTSD and consumes real cannabis daily to help my own problems, the synthetic shit is 100% anti-theraputic. If I may kindly suggest, keep working out and staying active (and staying jacked apparently). And try to find some like minded kinfolk to keep you grounded in the real world. I know it’s easier said than done, and I’m no perfect example. But I feel for you and hope you can figure it out. Hugs from NL
I hate this sort of thing. My recommendation to maybe get around it is to use an app like SecScanQR (open source android app on fdroid app store) which allows you to scan a code and see/copy the text without immediately opening the link. Then at least you could copy it to your computer or another phone or something and paste it into your web browser and go from there.
Or if I misunderstood the nature of the problem, aside from the rant which I totally agree with, please disregard
