Finland is playing a dangerous game. It has much to lose and nothing to gain.

Exactly. The nation has had a friendly relation with USSR/Russia post-WW2 only for it to be completely fucked now. It is very obvious who gains from this though, the US, in fact fucking Mitch McConnell was in Finland today, discussing NATO with our president. Last year Finland also made a big deal with the US to buy jet fighters, I guess we are now forever cucked by them

Unfortunately the majority of the population support this. Demsocs who are in the government said that they would not sit in a coalition government if Finland were to join NATO, but they have now fallen to opportunism and revisionism. Only the Communisty Party (they are such a minority that they do not even have one MP in parliament) and the Finnish Peace Union are against NATO here. The propaganda has done its job here.

“We are the wave of the future,” the NATO country said, and proceeded to make propaganda beer cans with ugly 1950s-style kids’ artwork.

All the Scandinavian countries were already NATO members informally (Norway formally), this changes nothing.

Have fun Finland, your desire to be superior to the Russian “hordes” will have disastrous economic consequences.

Here’s hoping, but I doubt it.

As if we will ever be defeated by an imperialist organisation that cannot even figure out how to spell its own name.

May Xi Jinping liberate us from this shithole of a country

Pretty ironic to call yourself a democracy when you dont even let the people have say on whether to join a military group or not
