Hilarious piece from Businessinsider telling the story of couple of guys going to Ukraine to fight with the foreign legion. They barely survived without beeing in any battle. Goes home.

It’s like Kyle Rittenhouse on a massive scale. They showed up to wave guns around and kill Russians and then act outraged that Kyiv expected them to actually behave like soldiers.

Who the hell is Kyle Rittenhouse by the way? Saw it circulate somewhere in the muricah information space, but there was some weird vague shit about it.

Some asshole. Kyle is a teenager who went to a protest with his adult militia buddies armed with an AR and then killed 2 protesters before maiming another. He got off scot free because the entire court case was biased in his favor and the prosecution was actively making themselves look stupid. I think it’s related to this because he went there looking for trouble, had an alibi ready, and pretended to be shocked when he ended up killing people.

The shock when they realize that throwing a knife and hitting someone in the foot with it isn’t as effective in IRL.

Imagine them going for that knife kill and being like “What the hell, I need to stab him and he doesn’t insta die? That’s bullshiet.”

Call of Duty has a throwing knife weapon which instakills an enemy if you hit them anywhere on their body.

I don’t know what to add that has not been said before, in this thread or elsewhere. But this line was the one that made me want to write a comment:

“It was like a rollercoaster,” Tobias’ daughter, Luna, told me when I reached her by phone. “Always waiting for messages to know if he was okay.”

Tobias went to Ukraine because he saw a girl his daughter’s age carrying an AK in Kiev, and that made him want to enlist. But for what? He left his daughter behind, he might die in Ukraine and leave his daughter an orphan, for an unknown woman he saw on TV that reminded him of his daughter? But you have a daughter right here, at home, that needs you.

    Ukraine is not your fight.

Is he hoping to get a Hallmark movie deal with that sob story? He left his family to go and join in a war that doesn’t involve him in any way out of empathy? Get the fuck out of here.

Bruh thats an big ass red flag, he leaved after he saw an girl of the age of his daughter fighting in the war, i wonder why he decided to go immediatly after seeing that 🤔

Best case scenario is missing white woman syndrome where he was just so moved because he saw a little white girl putting her life at risk. But more likely he wanted to get himself a child bride.

These guys are fucking psychopaths. They spent all that money and made that journey to go fight in a war that has nothing to do with them, and then are shocked that things aren’t exactly like Call of Duty where they just walk in and save the day.

And yet they went back. They went back to their cushy First Worlder lives. Meanwhile, near damn every day there’s a necrolog for another guy from my city that died in Ukraine. Fuck these mercs and their sappy tale.

And by chaos, they mean hilarity.

“I remember two crazy Germans,” Mamuka Mamulashvili, the commander of the Georgian Legion, told me when I reached him over Skype. I showed him a picture of Tobias and Lukas, just to be sure, and Mamulashvili burst out laughing, explaining that he tries to personally interview every recruit. “That’s them.”

“My officers told me there were these two guys trying to party in the barracks, and they had to go. They were gone the next day,” Mamulashvili said.

The smoking weed, drinking and partying is the funniest part. It’s like these clowns never knew the discipline the military entails. They’re so naive they tell a journalist everything going on with no filter.
