A look at a cereal isle in a grocery store will disprove the myth of capitalist innovation.

I tried to make a joke building on your joke, but I replied to the wrong comment, Aru. 😞

Yeah, but, some of those bottles have different colour caps. Well, different shades, anyway. They’re not all light blue. Some are darker blue and some even have a hint of purple. In fact, some are even white. And the white caps can’t be unscrewed so the bottle can’t be refilled and has to be chucked away after a single use. You can’t tell me that’s not innovative. Like, medieval people had to make do with a skin and a cork. Completely different concepts.

It innovates so much that Shell has been using the last few decades to lobby as much as they can to keep oil profit as high as possible instead of innovating into greener energies

I swear the innovation argument has to be one of their dumbest ones. It can be so quickly debunked by just looking around for five seconds. Entire cities are designed to accomodate cars instead of having logical, safe and people friendly cities with enough public transport to get around. Companies do the bare minimum to get forward in order to keep costs low and profits high. Actual competitors with new innovations get pushed out of the market by lobbying groups or huge conglomerates that can afford to lose money for a year or two.
