Since I’m going to finish Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (in probably about 10 hours given how long it takes to beat it) I’m currently looking for another game to play. Maybe Gamedec? Or maybe something other than a CRPG? We’ll see. I’ll check on suggestions that you all have down below.
Discussion questions:
-
Who are your favorite game developers in terms of favorite video games? (Nintendo, Sony, etc.)
-
How did you first get into video games?
My answers:
Overall, I’d have to say Nintendo and Owlcat Games (though that last one is more current). In terms of how I first got into video games? The Nintendo 64 was a godsend in that regard. I played the Star Wars pod-racing game first and then, from there, I played a few other classic games like Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Never quite liked Super Mario 64 though as much as some other people. Me, personally, anyway.
Also, shameless plug-in for a Discord server that me, BayArea415, and some good friends created:
Enjoy!
I’m still playing Persona 3 FES, but I did finish Sonic 3 & Knuckles a few days ago! Still planning on completing Persona 4 Golden.
Atlus and SEGA, mainly. I do like Obsidian’s work on New Vegas, but The Outer World’s the only other game they made that I bought, and I wasn’t particularly impressed.
I played Flash games on the Cartoon Network website on my dad’s laptop. But it wasn’t until my parents got me a PSP for my birthday that I had my first game console. Played a lot of (Jak and) Daxter on that thing.
And I never turned the power off when I did, because my parents never got me a MemoryStick card.
Sounds good!

Went back to Knight of the Old Republic and pirated the Klonoa remasters since I never finished the second one.
Where can you pirate these games?
Well, if you torrent always use a VPN because some ISPs will throttle or shut your internet off if you get enough DMSA emails. Always use an adblocker like uBlock Origin no matter where you go. https://www.ovagames.com/ is a good site for direct downloads. Is use cs.rin.ru to check the status of cracks and updates.
Thanks!

Bethesda games IMO get old quick, a mile wide and an inch deep.
At least their single-player games have tons of mods to fix most of the problems
Honestly, I love MMORPGS, though I think that Final Fantasy XIV has yet to be topped.
Have you played AC: Syndicate yet? There’s some side missions where you help out a certain influential German thinker who was in England during the period setting…

Definitely. As with Black Flag, huge caveat that it’s produced by Ubisoft, but the story really resonates. That ‘Assassins vs Templars’ frame that they place over different periods of history; in Syndicate it’s framing class struggle in Industrial Revolution London.
This fan-made song by Miracle of Sound pitches it better than I could: https://youtu.be/N6hF3EaICxk

Can’t rule it out I guess. The furore around the CEO facilitating sexual harrassment does bear all the hallmarks of the kinds of smear campaigns that have been used against Corbyn and other figures like that. But I think that if Ubisoft’s products are subversive enough to warrant that kind of attention they would be going after the products as well.
Makes you wonder though.
Hunt dragons with saxophone.
Online: Super Smash bros ultimate
DayZ PC (i run with a big commie crew on a vanilla-ish server you’re welcome to join us, we’re all comrades)
Not online: Fallout New Vegas
Sounds good.
- Favourite developers would probably be Capcom (Mega Man X/X2, Ace Attorney series) and Nintendo (primarily the Mario games, although some of them are developed by other studios). Some indie developers made great stuff – Team Meat (Super Meat Boy) and Dennaton (Hotline Miami) are up there. Chunsoft gets an honorary mention for the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games
- Probably saw someone else playing them as a wee lad. I dunno, that was fifty years ago, give or take a few decades
Yeah, love Super Mario, even though most people tend to go for The Legend of Zelda or Metroid franchises. I suppose it’s because the Super Mario series is kinda just “there” to some people and so doesn’t really get singled out as their “top favorite” Nintendo franchise. Most people seem interested in either the secondary franchises or the non-Mario franchises.
I do like the Metroid games (at least the 2D ones), but I mostly just prefer platformers. Some of the Mario spin-offs are very good as well (primarily the RPGs and Mario Kart)
The Mario RPGs are indeed pretty great.
Im looking forward to Stay. But I wanna wait for reviews.
There’s a big update coming out for Sea of Thieves next month. Anybody else play it?
If you can stomach playing in Asian peak times (~10:00-14:00 UTC) and use a VPN to Singapore, HK or Taiwan or play with someone in those regions (have them start the game first) there’s a high chance of meeting mainland Chinese players playing through the firewall. There’s loads of them.
- I don’t really have one. All tend to be dicks in some areas. I tend to return to Paradox games from time to time, but their DLC policy is just plain robbery. Grinding Gear Games is generally ok, but I often question if they play their own game enough with what they change and implement, also their cosmetic prices slowly reach Paradox levels.
- Propably around age 7. The first Warcraft was too cool to resist for little me.
That out of the way: Who’s playing Path of Exile here and is in for the coming league next month?

I love stealth games.
Also: I don’t care about game storylines. Play what you want. Hell, go along with it.

Anything and everything, tbh!
Lately I’ve been checking out Mad Max. It’s a repetitive game but I really like it. It’s one of those games where you explore every inch of the map for collectibles and fighting so u can upgrade vehicles and bases. I like the environment of it, everything is set in post-apocalyptic Australia in the dried up Oceanbeds. I made my pilgrimage back to Cuphead and got pissed and ragequit again, I’ll probably return in a few months
Still staying at my best friend and his girlfriend’s house and I tend to finish work a few hours before them and don’t have the energy to be productive, so I’ve been going a little ham more than usual. Was playing Halo and Fortnite, now playing Frostpunk (menus simulator lmao) and whatever other free shit I can get my grubby hands on with his Xbox Game Pass.

- Got into games very young, ~4-5 years old, sneaking out of bed to watch my dad play Red Alert in his office. My first games besides preschool learning games were a random assortment: Army Men, Sims, free online flash games and some sort of “50 retro games in one” joystick thing. Never had a huge “got into games” moment, I’ve just always had binge moments here and there until I get sick of them again for 3-12 months
Cool.
been playing a lot of guild wars recently (both games) but I’ve also been feeling the urge to replay silent hill 1-3 so I might do that soon
Never played the Silent Hills games before. I should get to that.
they’re some of my favorite horror games! they do a great job of building a tense, creepy atmosphere without relying on cheap jump scares. they also have some of the most haunting yet catchy music I’ve heard in a game. I replay them at least once a year or so
They also have my favorite song, or one of my favorites:
