I mean… What good bet do they have? Honestly, the event itself (the narrative abandonment of Ukraine by the Western psyop machine and said machine’s pivoting towards Taiwan) is an act of unspeakable cruelty, but it’s a sign of a truly wonderful thing in my eyes: it really IS over for the West. Anything they try, they fail - and they fail harder and faster than they ever did. The pivot towards Taiwan and the formidable enemy that is China tells me they have NO easy fronts to squeeze anymore, NO low hanging fruit to sweep in and pillage. The speed with which Ukraine is dropping off the news cycle makes me feel that the decline of the West is becoming precipitous in speed - the COVID pandemic turned a festering decline into a spiraling freefall for imperialist capitalism.

They’ll do - what their CIA handlers - tell them to do. They can get riled up, they can get rabid, they can go insane and pull their britches up above their heads; nothing will matter until their handler gives them the go ahead. Their army is only theirs in a sense of its place of origin. They have no sovereign decision power and are an American appendage through and through.

Who in the goddamn fuck would ever care about how the land of Shinzo Abe feels? They’ll do what they’re told by their CIA handlers so their feelings on local issues matter next to nothing.

I’ve been digging my heels pretty hard in Fallout 76. The caricature it makes of American Civil Religion is super fun and immersive, and the occasional mention to it’s blue collar history is always nice. Plus, I’m a sucker for the theme, visual style, level progression, and gear system.

My favorite devs would be Paradox Interactive and Bethesda, even if they are flawed to all hell. I just like the games they make. First got into videogames as a wee lad, getting my ass kicked at Super Mario 3 in the SNES.

Fallout 76. It’s a great time for me, I’ve always loved Fallout.

Since I play a ton of RPGs, it’s hard for me to pick a favorite character since I end up creating most of the ones I play from scratch, but I do love the aesthetics of Doomguy.

I don’t anticipate any games since I’m a “patient gamer”, ie, one of the weirdos who waits two years after the game is released to buy it on sale.

No, I have to disagree here. A living Añez could very well be a rallying point for a niche of fascists that has proven itself both ready to take foreign help and able to overthrow a government. One big reason Puyi was left to live and the Romanovs were not was that the Romanovs could gather support, and AFAIK the subhuman jackboots that put Añez in the presidency are still way too alive.
