I’m sure someone has asked this somewhere here or elsewhere, but I’m curious

1.What’s everyone’s favorite Game?

  1. Favorite retro game?

3.What game(s) are you playing right now?

  1. What games have most recently got?

  2. Any games you just beat?

  3. What consoles does everyone own? (plus handhelds) (PC is an answer)

  4. Worst game you’ve played?

  5. Favorite game song?

Feel free to skip around mix and match the questions.

  1. My favorite is Persona 4 or BoTW.
  2. I like Mario 64.
  3. I’m playing deltarune chapter 2 (it’s great actually, I played the first in 2019 and the second is divine so far, I love it so far.) Also Deus X (The first one), Majoras Mask (3D), Touhou 10, Hoi4 recently, as well as KARDS, a ww2 card game.
  4. I got deltarune (on my new pc, I played the first on switch)
  5. Deltarune chapter 1 (I promise that’s it)
  6. Ps2, N64, Wii (my switch is gone :( ) I also own a 2ds
  7. Probably the Phineas and Ferb wii game
  8. TOUGH, there’s too much, I’ve been listening to Flowering Night from Touhou, though the big ones I love everyone does, Zelda stuff etc. Honestly I love all game songs mostly.

I love games so much, especially Nintendo, a shame I don’t have enough games and consoles lol. I am buying a pink GBA though so eh.

For this community, if you haven’t played The Outer Worlds, do it. You won’t regret it.

Also “Pay Day” by MiracleOfSound is inspired by it, and it’s a bop.

The Outer Worlds is just… sad.

when i first played it i thought i was in for a critique of capitalism, in a dystopic scenario where it’s only the economic system that managed to colonize space.

Instead, i get a liberal ‘‘critique’’ of whatever the hell they consider to be ‘‘extremes’’, as the only times this game critiques capitalism is when the owners are so comically evil to such an irrealistic degree that they seem more like cartoon characters. In fact, i’d say the game spends more time shitting on anti-capitalists, than it ever does spend critiquing the system: The Iconoclasts a group of ‘‘anti-corporate revolutionaries’’ and their leader Graham Bryant, are painted as evil because they willingly allowed pirates kill the company’s bosses and their families living on the planet. And the only good ending they’re allowed to have is when you kill their leader and make them merge with the Epic socdem ‘‘we have healtchare and vacations’’ corporation next doors.

Felix Millstone, the recruitable Cargo-bay worker is constantly made fun of by both the game’s writers and the other characters for his anti-capitalists views. ‘‘He kicks things that need kicking, and we look the other way when he starts talking anti-corporate.’’ (dialogue from another one of your companions) and how the ‘‘good’’ ending mocks him for having hopes of an ‘‘awakening’’ among the colony that would spark a revolution as if it was an impossible fantasy that only children dream up.

Clyde Harlowe and his band of Outlaws who attack company freighters and ‘‘plot a revolution within the colony’’, are portrayed as murderous, evil and useful idiots that get used by corporations to attack their rival’s freighters.

Hell, this Both-sideism that the writers love is even present in the dilemma from the FIRST main quest of the game, where a group of deserters from a company town make their own little town with an alternative food source that doesnt rely on the company Cannery, but there’s only enough electricity for one place so you are forced to choose who dies. the only way to reach an ending where you don’t have to starve half the population to death is when you bring the deserters back into the Company town, where they become indentured servants that have to pay for their graves with their own money.

indeed, the one thing i can’t criticize about the game is it’s art direction.

I couldn’t finish the Outer Worlds

Pretty much every major decision was like: "Now choose the faction you want to side with!

… YOU FUCKING MONSTER, YOU SHOULD’VE SIDED WITH THE OTHER ONE"

    1. Morrowind. I spent like 7 years playing mostly it in my school years.
    2. Doom probably, I still play it modded from time to time
    3. Space Engineers. I love sandboxes and this one has me building stuff that actually moves around. 4-5. The Witcher 3. Played the first two years ago but was so burned out I never gotten to 3rd. Had to torrent that one since I’m from Belarus and CDPR doesn’t want my money anymore.
    4. I have a PC and a laptop, but I emulate a ton on my phone with bluetooth controllers too. Played a lot of console games on my last 3 phones that I never got the chance to play while I was younger. I also have an old Sega Genesis at mother’s place but that thing hasn’t been turned on in over a decade.
    5. I don’t remember because some games are not “bad” but just mediocre stuff I lose interest for. Maybe one of those Famiclone fakes like Super Mario 16 I played in a classmate’s home in my yonger teens?

But who’s to judge the right from wrong? When our guard is down I think we’ll both agree that MGR OST kicks ass.

    2 – Doom (1993)
4 – “Got” as in bought? Last time I bought a game it was 2018, I think. But last time I focused on a game was playing UnCiv, a 4X strategy game for mobile phones.
6 – I have a PS3 laying around, but I don’t think it still works. I usually play games on my mobile phone

  • Favourite game: hard to say, but Super Meat Boy is definitely up there

Favourite retro game: probably Mega Man X/X2. I have a lot of nostalgia for the Pokémon games, but I no longer have the patience to play them without an emulator to speed up gameplay

    Just beat: Chrono Trigger DS

Consoles: PS1-3, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, GC, Wii, Wii University, GBA, DS, 3DS, PC (pretty much only use the latter three nowadays)

Worst games: I’ve tried many horrible NES games but can’t think of a really bad one at the moment

(On your last point: you’d probably be better off just buying a DS (original or Lite) since it has a backlight and a much better D-Pad. Used ones are extremely cheap these days.)

    1. Way too many for me to choose from. FF7, FF tactics, all the Metal Gear Solids, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Dead Space, Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the PS2, Genshin and Honkai, Civ 5, Souls games, Deus Ex HR, Detriot Become Human.

    2. Galaga

    3. Elden Ring, Honkai Impact, Hoi4 with the Millenium Dawn Mod

    4. Elden Ring was the most recent game I bought.

    5. No

    6. PC and ps4

    7. IDK, I keenly avoid playing trash nowadays.

    8. Another one with too many to choose. Final Fantasy OSTs in general, The Best is Yet to Come from MGS1, It Has to be this Way from MGRR, See You In Next World from Honkai, Soul of Cinder theme from DS3, X vs Zero from Megaman X5 and Megaman in general

    3. Just set up some emulators so mainly GameCube stuff, right now Mario Kart double dash
    4. I acquired Metroid Prime trilogy through very legal methods
    5. I gave up on Hollow Knight at the final boss lmao
    6. Only my laptop, I really want to get a Vita or 3ds and do some hacking
    7. I guess Duke Nukem forever is considered bad but I really enjoyed it for what it was
    8. Chemical Plant Zone

    1. I don’t think I have one. But some of the games I’ve replayed many times are Persona 5 Royal, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Fallout New Vegas.
    2. Probably Sonic 3 & Knuckles
    3. Stardew Valley (I’m putting too much time into it)
    4. Watch Dogs 1 and 2, on the PC. I had the first one on the 360, and the second one on the PS4.
    5. Portal 2 (but I’ve already beaten it a couple of times before)
    6. Xbox 360, PS3 (modded), PS4, PSP (modded), PS Vita (modded), DSi (defective; I got scammed; still modded it though), 3DS (faultily pre-modded, had to redo it), Wii U, Switch (recently modded), and I’m hoping to get a mail about the Steam Deck in a couple of weeks
    7. Don’t really have one, probably some shovelware on the Mega Drive.
    8. Several tracks from Danganronpa 2. (Ms. Monomi’s Practice Lesson, Ikoroshia, and Ekoroshia are my top picks from the game’s soundtrack)

    1. Impossible to answer! Dead Space 2, Halo Reach, Age of Empires 2, who’s to say.
    2. Dig Dug
    3. None at the moment, I usually binge games for a week or four and then don’t play them for weeks or months, I just recently finished a binge so it’ll probably be a while before I can stomach it (I purposefully allow myself to binge (not excessively, mind you) to both relax, get rid of the itch and to make myself so sick of it I have no choice but to be productive)
    4. Into the Breach (good, it’s like chess on crack) and Carrion (eh, not the best impulsive purchase)
    5. Into the Breach
    6. Okayish laptop, PS2, PS4, Xbox 360
    7. Some Wii game about shooting chickens. My parents bought our family a Wii when it came out and it was a lot of fun. This game was somehow like $100 and it was laughably, inexcusably bad. I felt so bad about the wasted money that I cried about it years later, I felt guilty that they would spend that much on something we never touched.
    8. Either “Main Theme” from Company of Heroes 2 or “Happy To You” from Age of Empires III. I really love OST-style modern classical music, I draw to it sometimes.

I like videogames a lot and have tried out a very wide variety of games but I feel really hollow and sad when I play them more than just a little. Lots of mixed feelings from childhood memories.

Me and my best friend are currently developing a videogame and have been for over a year, tbh half the time I want to play a videogame I wish I could just play our game, but finished (which’ll likely take another year at least). Or our “magnum opus” game we’re working on that’ll probably be done uhhh in like 5 years lmao.

I just beat Eastward, which I got for the switch. I loved the artwork, it just created a fantastic atmosphere. The story was heartwarming at times and creepy at other times. There were so many details to the story which were clearly deliberate but I couldn’t piece together and I was really excited to see how they were going to tie everything together…and then the game just ended and so much was just left unexplained. Before finishing it I thought it was one of the best games I’d ever played, but man was that disappointing.

Final Fantasy VI has my favorite soundtrack of any game I’ve played.

Yeah, we can only hope for the best. But, if I’m honest, I’m expecting boost gameplay with the open world segment having mini-quests or whatever to unlock the next level.

The battle system looked kinda janky to me

    2. Mega-Man 2
