Hakim and Yugopnik are the best ML YouTubers right now I think

Luna Oi is great as well

I love second thought, but I don’t watch many of his videos, they tend to be a bit basic for me, but I enjoy them still

And a lesser known YouTube is Paul Connolly

I second the Citations Needed suggestion, they are very good, like very very good.

Michael Parenti. Our comrade, our teacher. The comrade who finally convinced me to learn about communism. Heard he’s Italian though, so critical support /s.

And I enjoy Dessalines’ YouTube channel too. They narrate communist books. They’re the reason I finally read Parenti’s books. It’s an amazing resource.

My absolute favorite is Prolekult. This dude makes videos that are more akin to long documentaries, and he has an extremely keen eye on what’s going on in the world and power dynamics between big players, which other content creators very often lack. It really upsets me that he has such small following I hope you comrades subscribe, he deserves a lot more and he’s not being heard because he is working in Youtube’s garbage system which downranks every good piece of content that is actual value and not just bullshit interpersonal drama or movie review.

    Others I like:

    • NonCompete: Dude came to hate America so much he literally moved to Vietnam. He makes fuckton of content, some educational, some discussing topic of the day, some purely comedy. Not all of his videos are worth watching though unfortunately, and I’m not 100% sure whether he is ML or not tbh. My favorite videos of his are:

    • The Gravel Institute: Was made to be a “leftist PragerU”, basically high production short videos looking at various leftist topics.

    • Viki1999: Has a bunch of videos explaining how the political and economic systems of various AES works/worked. More on the educational side for newcomers.

    • Finally, Three Arrows. Not sure about his politics and not many of his vids are worth watching, but two of his vids are really good and everyone should watch:

Finally, what I gotta say is that how I view these is per videos, I don’t need a “content creator” to deify, if a vid is good I recommend it even if the other vids in the channel might be garbage. Content creators are just human and you can’t expect them to never mess up after all.

Fair warning: Three Arrows is a massive lib. Anti-communist through and through. His well researched deep dives into various topics are usually quite good, but keep in mind that he has that bias. He is probably pro-Ukraine in this current conflict.

Also, Non-Compete is somewhere halfway between anarchist and ML, very sympathetic to both and platforms people of both tendencies, though leaning more toward the anarchist side.

He is probably pro-Ukraine in this current conflict.

Yeah I keep wondering about this, since his video “Was Every German Soldier Evil?” basically debunks the exact same type of arguments about Nazi Germany that are used currently to handwave away Azov Battalion and Ukrainian war crimes in Donbas. I wonder if he can make the connection or is he gonna go full Nazi like the rest of the libs? I guess it remains to be seen. Hopefully he’s smart enough to be able to connect some of the dots.

Also in “How the U.S. Keeps Losing its Wars” which was posted 6 months ago he literally discusses the security threat NATO was posing to Russia and how it probably isn’t such a good idea to be doing that (@11:14), which the libs now are pretending is actually fake and NATO was posing no threat to Russia. So he’d basically have to walk back what he said in that video if he wants to side with libs fully on this. I downloaded his vid unto my hard drive in case he deletes it given the new narrative lol.

Considering that Azov and the SBU are fulfilling exactly the role that the SS and Gestapo did for the Third Reich, and that they behave in the exact same way, up to and including Azov providing ideological indoctrination to the regular soldiers, being integrated into virtually every unit, and acting as “blocking detachments” that threaten to shoot anyone thinking of retreating or surrendering, i think you would have to be blind not to see the parallels.

Those who are saying that the presence of Azov and other Nazi groups in the Ukrainian armed forces, by some estimates making up at least one in every ten soldiers, does not taint the entire military are essentially propagating the modern version of the “clean Wehrmacht” myth. And this is something that Three Arrows has indeed made some pretty excellent videos about. But i still suspect that his anti-Russia bias will blind him to this fact.

Blowback is a great podcast that discusses the reality of American empire and it’s a great way to get libs thinking critically about imperialism. It dismantles the thinking that we’re the good guys, but are just incompetent and have bumbling idiot politicians like Bush. In fact, everything is done purposefully with a material intention: to extract wealth from failed states and fuel the military industrial complex.

Season 1 is about Iraq, season 2 is about Cuba, and season 3 (coming this July) will be about the Korean War.

  • I’ve learnt a lot about China from Daniel Dumbrill. The New Atlas covers a lot of politics in Asia, and a lot about Ukraine since a few months back. Don’t think either of them are communists, but they’re both anti-imperialist.

As already mentioned, Hakim, Yugopnik and Second Thought are all MLs and have a lot of good content, and The Deprogram is entertaining.

If you want audiobooks with lots of commentary, I’d recommend Marx Madness (they recommend starting with season 2).
