Former U.S. National Security Adviser General Mike Flynn caused an international stir by stating on social media that “Cuba is next ,” after expressing his support for Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado and the Venezuelan people.

The message, published on the X platform with the phrase “ You’re next ,” was interpreted by analysts as a nod to a possible political change on the island , following recent calls for freedom in several countries in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Flynn, one of Donald Trump’s closest former officials , has maintained a critical stance toward authoritarian regimes in the region and has reiterated his support for movements seeking to restore democracy in Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua.

The post generated mixed reactions: while some users celebrated the message as a show of solidarity with oppressed peoples, others considered it a political provocation. The Cuban government has not yet issued an official statement .

To be fair, the US forces put into Bay of Pigs was tiny and far from full scale commitment. That said, attacking Cuba now in the age of drone warfare could open a massive can of worms for the US if Cuba becomes a Yemen and plucks at US commercial ships, oil rigs and coastal assets in the gulf.

Not to forget that the implicit threat with further military shit into Cuba was the USSR firing a nuke at the US.

Thats not to say that modern Cuba stands alone, I can see countries like Angola and modern day Russia/China providing direct military aid as well as alligned southern and central american countries if it ever escelated this far.

The U.S. is currently making a show of blowing up random boats it claims are carrying drugs. I think it would blow up troop boats or shoot down troop planes.

If it’s at all feasible, I could see the U.S. attacking any boat that approaches Cuba and doesn’t submit to a search.

Reminds me how in 1457 during 13-Year War, Czech mercenaries garrisoning Teutonic capital of Marienburg were not paid by Order for months. As result Poles crowdfunded payment to Chechs and literally bought Teutonic capital from them.

Invading Cuba would destroy the American Empire right now. That’s why they quarantine it via the blockade. They’d Even if they defeat the army in days, capture Havana, and imprison the president.

Then what? It’s Iraq and Afghanistan on their doorstep. Except a huge chunk of the population actually liked the old government. And even those who don’t might be swayed when they lose their jobs, healthcare etc and they’re abused by Americans and their families murdered.

A large urban centre for unrest. Mountains for resistance to hide in. Then the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti, Puerto Rico etc nearby for rebels to foment unrest. The Virgin Islands, Miamia and Mexico to carry out assassinations and terrorist attacks against Americans.

The US drone striking any boat in the Caribbean they think is rebels. Killing “innocents” and tourists.

I don’t think the US has the power to defeat the Cuban army or even occupy it for a short period. Also, you are not factoring global condemnation, the current military cooperation with Russia and isolation that the US will experience.

Sometimes I feel that people still believe that the US is powerful when in reality it isn’t. It is just a declining paper tiger.

Sure. I don’t necessarily disagree. Consider my comment the best possible case for the USA.

Cuba’s proximity to the USA gives them advantages they don’t have for other conflicts. We don’t know push comes to shove if Russia backs them and international condemnation has done nothing in recent years.

        Whatever happens they’re still fucked.

And obviously Cuba has been planning for invasion for more than half a century. They definitely have plans, caches, sleeper agents, stay behinds etc.

First of all, let’s clear something up. The countries responsible for the genocide are US and Europe. Not the Global South. Evidence of this could be easily found in the following report:

In other words, the Palestinian genocide is a Western funded and supported genocide. Fighting against Israel is the same as fighting the whole West and we can also see this when Iran defended themselves from the illegal israeli attack. Tons of western countries and their bootlickers offered their military services to defend the entity.

The real international community, which is the Global South and west’s workers, are appalled from this and we are forced to watch this depravity. Every voting session from the UNSC is being trampled by the US veto. With this in mind, you seem to be confusing being forced to watch with “allowing” the genocide. You are diluting the blame from the real genociders and also ignoring the people globally doing their best to protest and agitate against this barbarity.

Also, regarding the empathy, it actually increased globally. Now, people are studying and learning of the barbarity of Israel when before it was hidden and ignored thanks to the West’s media. While exposing the barbarity, the West is also exposing themselves and their barbarity as well. This has helped to build a global movement of resistance.

There are plenty of global south Zionist supporters. Nigeria, Uganda, India, Eritrea, Cameroon, Morocco, Papua New Guinea, Togo, Myanmar, Paraguay, Tonga, Vietnam, hell most of the neighborhood of Israhell enables the genocide of Palestinians and suppresses their own populace for it.

However you are correct, it is the free peoples of this world, the conscious working class, that is actively fighting against Zionist influence and refuse any sense of further complacency. Only the true government of Yemen, the houthis, are fighting with us, truly.

Trade is not support though. Even if trade from these countries stop, it will not stop Israel because the real support comes from the West. One example is this one: US spends a record $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since last Oct. 7 . The US is literally giving free money to sustain the zionist entity.

If support from the US and Germany stopped, then we can actually see the entity finally stopping their genocide for real.

I am not talking about the general UN voting that only expresses condemnation. What I am really referring to is the UNSC which is the UN Security Council. This Council can impose sanctions or even authorize the use of force to maintain or restore international peace and security. The reason why not even this works is because the US vetoes any initiative to stop the Zionist entity.

Looking at this from the bright side, workers worldwide are in a better positions and are way more connected than before to fight back the fascists/imperialists.

Cultivating solidarity among the oppressed is what keeps the imperialist beast from enacting their worst blood thirsty fantasies. From my side, I can confidently say that Marco Rubio and their Miami Fascists will be defeated in Latin America but our western comrades have to defeat them at home with protests and agitation.

      We will win.

There is no Soviet Union but there is solidarity from Russia, DPRK(rumored), China and Iran(check this post of mine from c/military).

Venezuela is not alone and this is not worse than before. I could actually say that we are entering in the best timeline possible because we are now stronger than before while the enemy grew arrogant and mediocre. As an example of their arrogance being trampled, the US has lost to Yemen recently and their hell spawn Israel was whacked by Iran. They have been exposed as not invincible and weak.

The war hawks and neocons obviously want to topple Cuba. But very little of what Michael Flynn says publicly should be taken seriously. He’s made multiple comments recently that are factually inaccurate . His connection to the current administration is tenuous at best, and he seems to be using his credentials to stir the pot on social media or grift.
