I’ll be hosting an educational evening today where I will be accompanied by one of our members in Parliament. I’m curious to see how my public speaking goes lol. Looking forward to it.

My part is mostly explaining the consult we offer regarding energy prices / bills. We have lots of locations mainly in larger cities where we help people, but smaller places in the more rural parts get left behind. We’re now going over there to see how we can help the people over there.

The evening went good. I think around 50 or something people came (we expected like 20, so success). Had lots of interesting talks. People were really happy. All of them wanted to sign our petition which we will hand over to the president soon (and most of them took 10+ to be filled in by family/friends as well!).

I also somehow managed to get myself invited to a panel meeting with some of the country’s ministers at the end of the month. It would be nice to have a talk with them, see what that’s like lol.

Ngl i’ve had to do ‘research’ on porn genres (just browsed websites) just to have an answer when talking with male friends if the topic is brought up. 😅

If someone unironically wants to talk about their favorite porn genres in casual conversation, make fun of them. That is incredibly cringe.

It’s only weird because our “normal” is messed up. Something something superstructure, something something socioeconomic basis

So, the wall street journal released what is basically a doxxing story about the twitter/telegram account Dombass Devushka.

She is a former US-navy officer, and a lot of articles on western MSM are alluding her connection to the leaked report, although they do not do it explictly, as the leaking the docs is a crime. Soon after the dox, nafo dogs got her address and reportedly are threatening her and her family.

Ofc, she (and her group) are not really comrades, but her channel does a good job on exposing the ukrainian/nato fascist facet, and i regularly check her twitter for news about the developments.

    Its a whole mess of a story…

Years of liberalism have now pushed my parents to the marxist side.

Visiting my parents in The Netherlands now and we’re watching some satirical news program, and they sometimes sound more radical than I do lol.

Sometimes we’re too negative on our European people but I think there’s a huge potential that’s finally waking up.

Funny, it’s almost the opposite in my case. My parents were born in USSR, but nowadays sound almost as liberal as friggin reddit

we do have an enemy, it’s the current relations of property and the persons that don’t let go of them.

Apparently PCUSA doesn’t like Black Panthers bc they’re “new leftists.” [they’re the reason CA has gun control, they stray from the class struggle by fighting for black people, they ally with lumpen even though they’re unstable criminals who hurt “real” proles] also, someone called John Brown an Ultra who’s inferior to Lincoln.

Hearing not reading. They do seem to be relatively ignorant as settlers about the actual material conditions of the country they think they’re the vanguard in. Totally based internationally but domestically not so much.

Currently watching the MH370 thing on Netflix and oh my God how they could invite nutjob Jeff Wise on it is beyond me. ‘Maybe Russia is behind BOTH MH370 and MH17!!’

I know the answer, it’s sensationalism, but still.

      It’s just so bad lol.

One person even says that American intelligence went to talk to him, saying the US knows what happens and won’t make it public but it’s still Russia somehow according to this guy

Russia’s motive. Doesn’t matter man, just vibes

Is watching the series worth it? A lot of people here have been talking about it.

And by worth it I mean was it atleast entertaining or had something interesting to say?

The last thing I want is to watch something painstakingly Euro-Amerikan that didn’t even happen anywhere close to them.

It’s only three episodes and I had a lot of fun because the theories presented are so absurd. I can’t figure out if Netflix wants to be a conspiracy channel or if they were taking the piss with these people, but it was entertaining for sure.

I was reading early Soviet sci-fi the other day - Andromeda Nebula by Efremov - and it has occurred to me that comrades nowadays (i.e. here) would be appalled at his vision of the futuristic communist humanity.

It’s quite heteronormative for the lack of a better term. Everyone is kind of athletic and pretty (explained as being due to new kind of physical and mental education and upbringing). One of the main female characters laments how women in the past were treated as inferior and as property, but also notes she enjoyed being defended by her male friend after they get attacked by a bull. Said character is also some kind of world class archaeologist, but the main introduction point is her being stunningly beautiful, to the point where men need to be snapped out of it. Another female character basically considers one of her main duties as a starship crew member as “being there” for the captain. I guess it’s meant to be sort of pleasant in a humanist way, to show that unlike our world of strife, in their society it is the norm to help and support others. But it comes across awkwardly.

Then there’s a bit where a famous painter is said to be making a series of paintings of, essentially, racial stereotypes - he’s said to have painted “Daughter of Gondwana”, which features a woman of African descent coming out of the jungle with a spear in hand. And the next painting is about Crete/Greek archetype. Again, probably well intended, but awkward.

Then there’s the bits about treating various fauna as “evil”. One of the characters is mentioned to having passed his “trials of Hercules” (some kinda social exam) by “exterminating sharks off the coast of Australia”. Likewise, when cosmonauts on another planet get attacked by local fauna, they treat it as malice, despite acknowledging that they’re visitors and need to take care not to bring anything dangerous (i.e. their own microbes).

So yeah, kind of odd, but it’s an old book. On the other hand, one of the main characters is named “Dar Veter”, and I am convinced that’s where Lukas stole Vader from
