Well suggestion for recruiting techniques, all it took for me was starting to read State and revolution. Two days of that and boom suddenly I’m telling my liberal friends they are in fact not socialists at all.

Also I’m not even through the whole thing yet because I keep getting distracted, but I’ve already told several of my friends to read it because I think they, like me, will be slightly stunned when they see things from Lenin’s perspective.

Sidenote: while on the train as I’m reading, I feel the urge to talk to people about it. Unfortunately, I live in like one of the most conservative places ever, so I honestly might get shot if I start a converstation about socialism. That being said, if someone here dares me to do it I will lol

Trick them into thinking they could destroy you and your ideals in an argument if they were only slightly more informed. Worked on me lol

Jk, I mean that would’ve probably worked on me, but really I started because I was genuinely curious and someone here said State and Revolution had the answers

Taking a break from CPUSA and may not return to it, but I have an article for People’s World I’d like to publish before leaving, if I do retire.

Yeah. About a day later I had a close friend explain to me that the US needs to fund its military more because it might get attacked at any time. They call themself an anti-imperialist.

Due to anxiety, I didn’t go to an after school pub event and decided to deal with the frustration by drinking two whole beers in a row by myself. Gonna talk to my parents about my anxiety issues.

Despite its evidently restricted character, the [Soviet] elections in 1937 were perceived by many ordinary people as an opportunity to participate in framing a new constitutional order. The turnout reached 96.8 per cent of the electorate. Some ballots were spoilt. In one district 97 per cent of votes cast were valid, the remainder defaced in some way, or the candidate’s name erased. In Novosibirsk region the name ‘Trotsky’ was written in on one ballot, ‘I am voting for the heavenly Tsar’ on another, and ‘We are not voting’ on a third.⁹

Man people really are psycho sometimes. Imagine thinking fondly of the czar in the 30s.

Why people support Monarchism is always fucking nuts and anger-inducing.

Nowadays? Well you had a “cute queen” (heavy quotes) for a while in the British monarchy. So people really didn’t experience the true “horrors” of monarchism unless you were in a third world country getting couped for private interests that the crown had a hand in.

In the 30s? IN RUSSIA? You had people who were alive under the Czar. Unbelievable.

I really need to take a break from Twitter. Literally every time I go there, it’s just right wingers being insane ghouls. Something about social media is so addicting though.

I’ve been in that position and it’s really difficult because obviously there are still plenty of decent users on the site, but once I got rid of it I felt a lot lighter. It’s a site that’s explicitly being marketed towards fascists or libs at best so it’s not like things are going to get any better. Plus you always have spaces like this so it’s not like you don’t have anything.

A couple of nights ago I had another strange dream: one about Fascists who fought for the Allies.

That would actually be a passable idea for an article seeing as how some Fascists such as Marshal Pietro Badoglio and General Mario Roatta stuck with the Kingdom of Italy until its end, and it is at least plausible that some Axis soldiers ended up in penal battalions. There was also George Lincoln Rockwell, somebody who worked for the Western Allies yet became a neofascist anyway. How I could spin all of this into an article, though, I am less sure.

I am planning on publishing an article about dogs in the Third Reich a few weeks later, but I have barely started writing it.
