It can literally be anything so long as it isn’t owned by a major corporation (think: Microsoft levels of big).

Otherwise, I’m fine with it.

Like, seriously, don’t get paranoid and start recommending me shit I can’t use and having me go through extra steps to use it.

The “feds” will find me anyway or some shit. I’m just asking for the principle of OpSec at this point, whether it works or not. 👍

I have to second Kdenlive. It isn’t the most stable, but really what is in the video editing department. It is a wonderful program that is easy to learn and use, while still being quite productive and capable. Plus it is open source so it is secure and community developed.

Windows Video Maker tier easy and nimble: Shotcut

Great and powerful but also easy: Kdenlive (pick this)

Gigachad advanced tier for $3000 computers: Davinci Resolve

For the computer, I recommend kdenlive as well because it’s free and it’s usable, pretty straightforward. As to any platform, in my experience, the Android app CapCut has everything I ever needed for video-editing, and even though it’s on the phone, it’s even smoother than editing on a computer imo

I use Davinci Resolve. It’s free and just about as good as Adobe Premiere.

I’d say kdenlive for simple editing, da vinci resolve for advanced editing.

I’m just asking for the principle of OpSec at this point, whether it works or not

What do you mean by this? opsec is a word that gets thrown around a lot without understanding what it even means, it’s not a principle or something that can be rated 1 to 10. It means nothing without knowing your personal/operational threat model. Good opsec practices for one operation can be terrible opsec practices for another.

Are you saying you want something that doesn’t have corporate tracking in it?

I use Shotcut, it lags sometimes so make sure to save a lot, but it’s free and works pretty well
