Belgian government has fixed homelessness by taking away tents and personal belongings of homeless people sleeping at Brussels South station. The homeless people got up and found a stable job, mental healthcare and a house immediately. Truly a neoliberal miracle.

Production of copium be the highest Rated ever recorded in history

Idk, historical copium reserves are quite large. Just look at finnaboos going on and on about Simo Haya or however you spell it. Or about the space race. Great many things. Methinks all those you’ve mentioned will either invent something, some reason why it’s been a victory all along, or just switch to a New Thing. These types are not known for a long attention span

They would simply forget. Some years down thr line there will be terrible movies about the noble struggle against Russia and how it paves the way for future “freedom”.

DeSantis literally said that he would invade mexico day one if he gets elected. How can you even have this statement without any consequences, what a fucking shithole.

Not gonna lie I’m feeling a lot of pressure while writing an actual party programme. But if it succeeds it would be massive seeing thing I put on paper become reality.

Its crazy that someone can make a run for presidency in any capitalist country by only having a anti commie rhetoric.

Its not only that, is neoliberal banners too hatespeech, chauvinism and a lot of misinformation, not to minimize the anti communism but its just the same capitalist cocktail of ideas that they pull out when things go bad, I think its important to realize that what’s happened isn’t something new to the system but the system working as intended, communism is a threat to them and they are scared

Strongly anticipating the reaction of western audience to the adaptation of the Three Body Problem

Are people going to realise that the most popular fiction in China openly criticise the cultural Revolution?

Also the fact that it is made by westerners is a bit concerning

I’ve been wanting to watch the Tencent series with my partner for ages but haven’t gotten around to it. I’m honestly not very hopeful or excited about the western produced and netflix distributed series. It’ll certainly be packed full of China bad bs.

It’s incredible and I can only recommend it. The books aren’t exactly easy reads with the topics that are dealt with, but well worth reading and thinking about.

I would say in terms of story and characters the first book is the best. I found the second and especially third to be far more conceptual and existential. That’s not to say that there isn’t a story and character development and that it’s not compelling, they’re just very different feeling and a whole lot darker.

          • I loved them all, with my least favorite being the 2nd but it was close, and the 1st the best. I wrote a little thing somewhere about them, but basically I find it a beautiful representation of how changing material conditions can entirely flip interests and entire societal structures through the changes due to all the sci-fi shit going on. And you are treated as a knowledgable person in the world with the amount of info you have, but you are limited exactly like humanity as a whole is and the series develops around those limits.

I just spent the last few weeks in a small rural village (VERY rural), not a lot of internet access, so I haven’t been active here nor been keeping in touch with anything that’s been happening. Anything significant I should know of?

A famous Belgian radio/tv host has been arrested for possession of explicit material of children. Oh, he is also gay and can be seen with the rainbow flag a lot.

I think it took half an hour for the right to start linking LGBTQ+ with pedophilia again.

Crack is now becoming more mainstream in Belgium, mainly Antwerp and Brussels. I have to step around the crack pipes when going to work (tbf I do work in one of the worst parts in town, but still). This is on top of being Europe’s cocaine hub. I’m sure the ongoing war on drugs is going to end any day.
