Edit: due to privacy concerns over Google Docs, I have made a Cryptpad account. You can read the article there. I’ve also made a Cryptpad folder with all my antifascist articles (more to come).

Fascists take the recruitment online, and it’s important for antifascists to understand how the fight moves on.

We hope that through this exposé, you’ll learn new things about detecting dogwhistles and signs, and how insidious fascists can be when recruiting people.

This exposé has been in the works for a long time and there was never really the right time to publish it. I’m happy to finally be able to present it publicly. Thanks for reading.

“Never believe fascists are arguing in good faith, or that they say the truth. They lie all the time, they will do anything to win the debate and leave you humiliated if they can.”

I saw some clips from the tiki-march the evening before charlottesville, and it struck me that this vile, antisemitic chant isn’t even what they’re really really saying. It’s their “great replacement” slogan! You can NEVER trust a nazi, not even when they’re being openly nazis, there’s always a worse thing underneath.

    good write up.

if you don’t mind, consider posting on non-google platforms too.

I don’t know where else to publish it, but everyone should feel free to repost this article wherever they want to; it belongs to the people.

I have a backup on my computer just in case it gets taken down from Google, but I also understand that people may not want to use Google services at all.

Google docs is pretty scary, a lot of people just have their full name in their user profile, so an open google doc like that will expose your info not only to google, but to everyone else even just viewing that doc.

This is some good work! Is there a way to support you financially (if you need it), and if not: consider setting it up. If you like doing this type of work, getting paid for it / getting donations in our imperfect world is worth considering. I’d send you a few bucks just for this.

Thanks, I appreciate it! But there’s no need to pay for this, I write because I like to and because it helps me understand fascism and how to fight it. Knowing that people find my articles useful is enough for me :smiling face:

We also have articles on the sidebar of !antifastonetoss@lemmygrad.ml if you’re interested (they redirect to Reddit).

Someone suggested making a git repo to centralize my articles and I may look into it, but when you’re writing lengthy articles like these, having the comfort of something like Word is a must.

I can tell you put a lot of effort into this. One key takeaway is that we can debunk the popular myth were benign in the beginning. On the announcement threads on reddit i saw a lot of “they used to be fine” or “it started off just being against consumerism.” Nope. Started by frogs, ended as frogs.

Hi, thanks for sharing! Are you going to publish it elsewhere? (/c/publishing is there for you!)
If so, I wait for you and then archive the post where you put it.

I don’t really know where else to publish it! Maybe medium, but I would have to make an account and everything.

But it’s the people’s article now, everyone feel free to repost it wherever they want!

I’d be interested in a similar discussion of /r/CleanLivingKings which appears to be the same basic premise, but not yet banned.

I looked at it and I would have to dig deeper to grasp the full extent of this place, but it’s certainly a place for traditionalists (not sure about full fascism yet). They claim to build themselves up, but really their advice is nothing special and what you’d find in a self-help book. It reminds me of Jordan Peterson a lot, and his advice about cleaning your room lol. One stern-looking man succeeded in a month where parents failed for years.

      Their lifestyle boils down to:

      • accept god
      • do sports
      • read
      • don’t watch porn (and also don’t support sex workers either)
      • enjoy nature

But it’s very shallow in practice. Do what sports? Read what books? A person asking for advice on his thighs hurting when he started working out was told to power through it. This is dangerous advice that anyone could have given. It’s also highly individualistic advice, and that’s why I compared it to self-help books: it’s trying to fight alienation under capitalism with more liberalism.

It’s a sub full of people giving ill-informed advice and receiving the same ill-informed advice in return. How many of them practice what they preach? Reactionaries are paper tigers, and I would venture to say at least 50% of their most ardent followers are posing as kings without doing anything.

It doesn’t hold a candle to places like swoletariat or theory-focused marxist communities.

So I’ve been thinking about CLK since you brought them up and I made a write.as account. I’m going to be reposting some of my articles there, and then it’s my next project!

Edit: it’s actually going to be on my cryptpad account (see OP edit). Will post here!
