Lenovo makes some damn good computers and is one of the few companies that actually seem to take Linux support seriously on their laptops. Also, I’ve seen thinkpads go to hell and back and still keep working, good luck with that on a macbook.
It depends what tier of computer you buy. Cheap Lenovo laptops are some of the worst quality computers that I’ve ever seen. The things barely work and just fall apart from regular use. Their mid to high-end laptops are usually great though.

Cheap <any brand> consumer grade laptops are always trashy. Even among those, HP, Acer and others can be way worse just because of lesser parts availability and worse customer support.
I think the consensus is HP takes the cake for worst budget laptops. Like they’re all not great and I’d rather buy a used high end laptop than a brand new low end one for the same price, but with the tech support stories I’ve heard about HP, yeah.

I only buy Lenovo, ThinkPads are the powerhouse of every company I have worked for. I love my Yoga at home and my Thinkpad at work.
I wish my schools invested into better ThinkPads, I can’t stomach the thought of using them after being forced for 4 years to use a “new” computer that somehow worked worse then a 2004 Dell laptop.
Cheap ThinkPads sucks, all cheap laptops are garbage, it sucks, I worked in computer repair for a couple years out of secondary and 90% of the computers I fixed were cheap low-end, computers.
