Meanwhile in Russia, the 2nd largest party in the country is communist.

- Ukraine: Nazism = legal, communism = illegal.

I’m Belgian and our communist party gets 13,5% of the vote in Brussels and Wallonia (5,5% in Flanders; sadly the fascist party got 18,50%, making them the second largest party in Flanders. They don’t run in Brussels and Wallonia though as they hate not just brown people but also native French speakers)
The Belgian Communist Part (PVDA/PTB) has been growing since 2008. Lots of people in government. The reason he pulled that off was because a program called ‘Doctors of the People’, basically free doctors for poor people.

Actually, they banned pro-Russian parties, like the Opposition Bloc (which is certainly not left) It just so happens that all left-parties are pro-Russia, what a strange coincidence (and well, the communists party of Ukriane was banned long ago, de jure in 2015, though de facto much earlier with their anti-communists persecutions)

This. It’s astounding that many of the same people who support Iran and Syria for anti-imperialist reasons balk at giving even the most critical support to Russia. What’s the rationale? That Russia is actually powerful enough to stomp the Nazis, and so posting Russian flags on Twitter doesn’t let us feel like the underdog?

During the red scares, nearly all labor and “soft left” orgs, willing purged themselves of communists… not just in the US, but all over the world. Really sad that solidarity goes out the window as soon as the US picks a target.

It’s pretty funny how the US’s insistence on unipolar global dominance caused Russia to be anti-imperialist by virtue of standing up for their own sovereignty. They’re not even opposing the US for ideological reasons anymore but Russia’s finding itself in the same position as the USSR anyway.
