What is this madness!? All employees holding stock in a company! What is this evil communist stuff!? How dare employees have a right to a stake at their place of work! Ugh did I tell you about how communism took my grandpas slaves away and gave them an education and proper employment? did I tell you about how communism took my nanas toothbrush or how communism killed every human being including the Neanderthals?!

And here I thought workers co-ops are just where I buy carrots.

Maybe for some tech billionaire monsters this might be scary, but Occam’s razor (and hundreds of years of settler colonial, imperialist bullshit) would point more towards a burning desire for China to become a US client state

Why would it be a reason? Is it because you think the worker ownership model might inspire workers in the US to crave it over the bourgeois ownership model?

To an extent, I think they can. I won’t speculate that is what the capitalists are most worried about here though

Yeah, whatever the form the economy might take the US just doesn’t tolerate a competing superpower and wants to remain the sole one. China is on its way to become as powerful and the US really doesn’t like that, communism or not.
