Never thought about it that way but it would make sense.

As expected of Reddit, some reactionaries showed up.

They thought that they triumphed over the spectre of communism, unfortunately for capitalists and reactionaries, they were mistaken, they just made it retreat and even then, they dealt with only one.

Anyways socialists can be anywhere, they just conceal it well out of politics.

This reminds of the time the subreddit of one of the sports teams i follow started discussing Manufacturing Consent and people came out of the woodwork to talk about Parenti and communism lol

doesn’t the fighting game community have a relatively high number of POCs (compared to other genres at least)? I wouldn’t be surprised if that meant there were a higher percentage of comrades too

Yeah, it definitely does. Throughout most of my life I’ve been mostly an FPS player and that genre is a sea of white (esports wise) for the most part. When I got into the fighting game community a couple of years ago I noticed how much more diverse it was not just on the whole but at high levels in tournaments. It’s also more diverse in the realm of sexuality and gender, there’s a lot more people from the LGBTQ+ community and there’s way more acceptance than in other communities.

The FGC is probably the single most diverse gaming community in the world; there’s an enormous black presence. It goes further than that though; it seems to be one of the most inclusive for women and trans people as well.

Afaik when athletes from socialist countries went to the competitions in the west, they were approached by the intelligence agencies and coaxed to defect or make antisocialists public gestures, especially successfully and popular athletes.
