No judgement here. Obviously we live in different places where alcohol is regarded differently. Vote for which comment you associate with most.

Oh for sure. It’s trash. I mean it’s literal poison. But the feeling it gives me and the urges I feel I have to satisfy are greater than the repulsive taste and destruction :/ I’m getting help

I’m sorry comrade. I relate. It’s a hard thing to go through. We must remember that there are better ways of channeling our pain and suffering and all this is doing to us is destroying our brains and bodies.

I know that’s not much help, and care is expensive as fuck, but still. Hang in there, friend.

Yeah, I mean, I’m not wake up at the middle of the night for a drink alcoholic, but I drink most days of the week at least a little, and there are times where I drink every day for a few months. Maybe not exorbitant amounts some times, although others I do, but some days you just come back home full of shit and a glass of anything helps you get through. Maybe some people will say smoke some weed but it’s not the same and it usually gives me anxiety unless it’s high CBD weed, which is hard to come by.

I live in Australia, comes as natural as my mullet. Jokes aside I can count the number of drinks I have a year and have never been seriously drunk.

I grew more and more critical of alcohol with time but it plays such a big role where I live that I don’t see myself without it in that context. At the same time, I appreciate craft beer and pure whiskey, which isn’t like binge drinking diluted shitty liquor just to get smashed.

I recommend any young person starting to drink to always take it slow, resist peer pressure for you and the people around you, learn to say no and help people saying no when they want to. Appreciate the taste of decent alcoholic product and don’t force yourself to ingest anything just to get drunk. Respect people who don’t drink and support them in their choice.

Aww yeah. A glass of good, pure, whiskey or other fine liquor is a very nice treat.

I have always had a preference for Cannabis, but I do enjoy rice liquor with friends on a end of work week

    No.

I find the smell and/or taste of the majority of alcohol repulsive. I have attempted to try a wide variety of alcohols ranging from wines, beer, champagne, spirits, vodka, whiskey, bourbon, kvas, and so on. My family also has running heart problems and alcoholism, so I feel no need to poke the bear with drinking.

Plus other then drunkeness, there is really no benefit (or really a disadvantage) provided by an alcoholic beverage that cannot be provided by a non-alcoholic beverage.

Water all day every day, soda incredibly rarely, tea daily for energy, and the occasional energy drink for a big boost in energy.

I’m not at legal drinking age yet, so no, but I also don’t plan to ever consume it. Consuming alcohol is equivalent to intentionally consuming a toxin. Most of the ethanol is metabolized in the liver, via alcohol dehydrogenase, into acetaldehyde, which is a toxic carcinogen that can do fun things like damaging DNA and causing abnormal muscle development by binding to proteins.

I never drink for myself. Never gone to grab alcohol for myself. I only drink socially, most recently my GF and I had some cocktails with our traditional style pizza. I treat alcoholic drinks more like a food item than a drug that I seek out for intoxicating effects. If I can I avoid drinking at social occasions, but I will drink with a friend so they don’t drink alone, kinda like wingman-ing alcohol lol.

I’m a millennial, and it appears based on the comments that I have something most Gen Z folks do not: alcoholism. Being that alcoholism is a self diagnosed and self treated disease, I have not found strict abstinence to be the best solution for me, I am in the process of weaning myself off gradually. But I’m very glad to see that the next generation of communists has not succumbed to blindly drinking as your only source of fun like the corporations would have you do. Casual drinking once in awhile is almost always harmless, but don’t let any substance become your whole personality.
