There is no such thing as “North Korea” and “South Korea”. There is only one Korea, but the South region of Korea is still occupied by US military bases and troops.

Korea was invaded over 75 years ago by the United States and protected by the Soviet Union.

And the US side is the one constantly doing absurd military demonstrations at the border. But trust me, we’re the good guys!!!

I read the account of a US soldier in Korea on Reddit. He was posted near the DMZ. They have artillery pointed at the DPRK ready to fire at any time. His job was being posted there, so it’s a 24/7 thing.

      No self-awareness in that soldier.

those demos are legit invasion drills. they are in NO WAY for self-defense.

There is even a US military base in the middle of Seoul. And military police walks around (presumably to prevent their soldiers from being too violent against civilians). Also lots of night clubs in Seoul have signs that US soldiers are not allowed to enter.

If they are, they’re doing a shit job at it. American soldiers abroad are known to commit a shit ton of rape.

Yes definitely, but its pretty incredible that US military police just walks around on patrols in another country (thats totally not a colony).

The unification of Korea is economic. The emancipation of the Korean people is political.

    Long live People’s Korea!
    Long live the Korean people!

Why am I an atheist? If there were a god, they would smite the USA.

How the US effectively occupied South Korea after their independence is something that is not discussed even a little bit in mainstream discourse. It’s one of those things where the non-capitalist version of history reads like fanfiction detached from reality unless you know that it has been a common pattern in history.

This is why we all need to support the DPRK critically at the very least against US imperialism

Apparently the line was made by a random officer who came into the room and upon seeing Korea immediately suggested it. Wish I had a source for this
