If this is supposed to make it seem like people only focus on a few small things about the USA, it fails spectacularly. There’s so much terrible crap listed here that they needed to shrink the text to squeeze it all in.

That’s not tunnel vision, that’s a shit ton of problems that everyone can plainly see.

This is after using catch-all terms like “political controversy” and “dumb American things”.

They didn’t even get 1% of it.

Completely ignored our prison system, gross (and growing) inequalities, growing homelessness, lack of access to healthcare services, militarized police murder/brutality, increase in human slavery, decrease in wages, attacks on unions, opioid epidemic, seizing of remaining native lands, increase in child labor, etc etc I could spend my entire life listing shit but would never leave my chair if I did that.

every other thing about the U.S.

Yep, I guess that I should be more appreciative of this cheap computer, crappy food, mediocre house (that I’ll eventually have to leave anyway), meager disability income, and running water and electricity that my household has to pay for. After all, a lot of people in the Southern world don’t even have those… a lot of people here in the United States don’t even have those… but I’m sure that if I didn’t need to take a handful of medication daily to control the depression that my unsanitary American school gave me and my American peers exacerbated, I’d be more grateful.

If you completely ignore the 1205747474738 problems the U.S. has, it’s not the worst place in the world!

I love how the last point implies that gun violence, people dying, stupidity, politics, red vs blue fighting, idiotic politicians, and political controversy are in the category of smart American things
