Geronticide was nearly always seen as incredibly abhorrent, even among the societies that practiced it, because it was usually the “answer” for the worst possible question of “who will die from starvation”.

But when it is for the profits for 1%, everything is suddenly desirable!

Seriously i hope this fucker, as every malthusian ever, starts with himself.

Disembowelment? I doubt that is an economic reason rather just Japan’s cultural preference.

Another preferable solution is stop being so fucking racist and allow other nationalities to enter and live in your country to care for the aging population. Or set up economic incentives to make having a child rearing more affordable to stop the population crash.

It’s really fucking sad that the current paradigm of society makes you actually think this is the only solution and i can’t blame the guy because ive been in a situation that wouldve made me think that way if i havent read anything about communism.

Having to take care of an immobile > 90yo is horrible, you spend every single moment hoping for the day your burden is lifted. You even start convincing yourself that sneaking a couple more pills is justifiable.

For a person that hasnt been introduced or simply does not care about an alternative about the world we live in, its fairly easy to see why someone would reach this “solution”.
