There was no space race. That was coined retroactively by the US as propaganda. It’s not like they coordinated a formal competition with the USSR with rules and judges and shit.

That’s why NASA has been stagnant since the early 90’s, it was created to compete with the soviet union and not as a scientific pursuit, which is why the US privatized space exploration, which left them technologically more stagnant

What a way to take a quote out of context, the CCCP said they didn’t consider themselves to be in the Space Race because they didn’t even consider America a competitor with how behind the US space program was. The Soviets were photographing Saturn and sending men into orbit before the US could even get a monkey off the ground without blowing it up.

I’ve never seen this argument for the moon landing being fake. Ever. I’ve seen people say Jewish people faked it but never bring up the USSR. Just making up a guy to “own” for memes.
