As a Russian, I’ve always found it bizarre how so many Russian comrades can come to correct conclusions regarding socialism/USSR, but often for some ass-backward reasons, while at the same time being deeply culturally conservative. The whole forum in general is a great example.

Well not to absolve anyone from chuavnism but US Christians have spent a lot of time and money spreading homophobia around the world. They took the L when the US court legalized same sex marriage and decided to pivot abroad to places like Africa but Russia too. Its another part of the equation even of its not the biggest part of all of this.
Its ironic how often Putin tries to say the west is turning everyone gay because in many ways the opposite is true.
