Literally a few minutes ago, the pakistani parliament deposed Imran Khan as prime minister of Pakistan. This comes after the Supreme Court, under pressure from the US and the pakistani military (which has a long history of supporting US coups), repealed the convocation of elections by the president and ignored the blatant evidence of US interference in this vote of no confidence (politicians from Khans party were bribed to vote against him, also the US literally sent Khan a letter threatening a vote of no confidence if he didnt sanction Russia). The US just did a coup at Chinas doorstep. This isnt good.

He isn’t even pro Russia, he is just pro independent foreign policy. I hope the people of Pakistan take to the streets and make their voices heard. The opposition is full of thieves and puppets that have bled the country dry both figuratively and literally (feigning outrage at drone attacks while being fully complicit). They also want to give bases to the US.

This. This is not only about Russia, Imran Khan was standing up to America in general. America didn’t like it.

Same, i hope the people of Pakistan protest this coup. Hopefully theyll be able to overthrow the new US puppet government and reinstate Khan to power like the bolivian people did after the 2019 coup. Still, the pakistani military is still a big problem, since they are pure US lapdogs and will happily stage a military coup and shoot at protesters if the US asks them to. I agree, the opposition are US puppets. This is especially painful to see with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) because of its based legacy. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto would struggle in his grave if he saw what PPP has become nowadays.

Agree, the Pakistan military pretending to be “not involved” is laughable. I guess they will go back to making tons of money off overpriced US weapons deals and pretending they can’t do anything about US drones lynching Pakistani children when even Iran is able to stop them. But every institution there is ripe with corruption, from the assembly to the courts to the election commission, etc.

And yeah, the hope I have is this is just like Bolivia after the 2019 coup. But that is up to the people now.

If a Bolivia situation occurs though, i hope that its not as bloody as Bolivia. Hundreds were killed in the brutal repression on orders of the fascist Jeanine Añez (who is now in prison inshallah).

Time for China to start playing hardball with the US. It would be quite easy – all China has to do is cut America’s supply lines.

If they mess with the BRI there will be retaliation, seems like major conflict is inevitable.

I wonder if China will have a more successful time at repelling the CIA than the USSR, they’ve done well already, but it hasn’t escalated to full cold war just yet.

They’re much better protected from propaganda since they have their own internet, and they don’t mind “censoring” obvious propaganda before it enters the country.

Also, they have hindsight from the USSR. The US only has a few tried and true strategies at the end of the day, which China has seen used in full force during the Cold War. This allows them to anticipate what the US might do to them and preemptively develop a defence plan.

This is from a few days ago though, before the coup suceeded. What changed is that the Supreme Court, under pressure from the US and the pakistani military, overturned the decision of the president to dissolve the parliament and hold elections, so the motion of no confidence went forward and Khan was overthrown.

Same, i was so happy when it seemed like Khan had beaten the US backed putschists. This just ruined my saturday night. I doubt India will condemn this, Khan supported the rights of muslims in India and opposed the military occupation of Kashmir by India. Modi, being the islamophobe indian chauvinist he is, will never praise someone like Khan.

I think it would be less about praising him and more about keeping the region stable. The indian goverment is getting tired of seeing the US trying to harm their relationship with Russia, if pakistan gets couped by the US for not being against Russia, india will feel like their own goverment is menaced. An nuclear power getting couped by the US is something very serious, more then Modi’s infantile religious delusions.

Or the Indian goverment will side with the US in fear of getting couped, or they will bury their rivalry with China and their anti-muslin actions so they can unite against the US opression.

I mean, i hope what you say happens but im not so sure. Modi plays both sides according to his interests. He is being proRussia now but thats because russian gas and oil are cheap plus India and Russia have had good relations since independence. However when its about China Modi has no problem siding with the US. For example, Modi is allowing the US to use indian territory to arm, fund and train the burmese proUS terrorists, actively destabilizing Burma/Myanmar and disrupting the BRI. If he really wanted stability he would support the military junta like China does instead of these terrorists.

I think we should put more hope on the Russian, Iranian, Chinese, Afghanistan, and other asian countries in the region who have some self respect and will not take this menace to the independence of the region lightly.
