Literally a few minutes ago, the pakistani parliament deposed Imran Khan as prime minister of Pakistan. This comes after the Supreme Court, under pressure from the US and the pakistani military (which has a long history of supporting US coups), repealed the convocation of elections by the president and ignored the blatant evidence of US interference in this vote of no confidence (politicians from Khans party were bribed to vote against him, also the US literally sent Khan a letter threatening a vote of no confidence if he didnt sanction Russia). The US just did a coup at Chinas doorstep. This isnt good.
Oh fuck holy shit that’s fucking bad,the Belt and Road Initiative is going to take a huge fucking blow. Any sources on this? Video? Conformation?
I mean just google “imran khan” and youll get many articles on this. One from The Guardian covering the situation (from an antiKhan prowest view full of lies and slander of course): https://theguardian.com/world/2022/apr/09/pakistan-on-brink-of-crisis-as-imran-khan-blocks-no-confidence-vote
Shit
a huge blow? why?
Pakistan is a very important partner of the BRI, since it connects Xinjiang with Afghanistan, Iran and the Indian Ocean. For this reason, China has been investing and developing infrastructure in Pakistan since 2015. Losing all of this would be a huge blow. Still, Imran Khan and China wont just roll over and die now, the fight continues.
Pakistan is an very important country on Asia, and probably the most influent Muslin country nowadays, if an US puppet goverment gets on power, they will probably start hurting the BRI in some way.
land of pakistan was important for trading routes, now they gotta go around.
