I don’t know if this is appropriate for this community or not, and I apologize if it isn’t.
I’m a leftist amateur writer who has been world-building a science fantasy socialist/communist society for use in roleplaying and potential future story writing. Basically, a communist nation of animals who have cast aside predator-prey relationships. The characters are animals simply because I like animals, but it could also represent the fact that prehistoric hunter-gatherer tribes are thought of as communist (symbolized by the fact that animals are thought of as being closer to nature). Here are my writings:

I would appreciate feedback, especially in terms of whether this is actually communism.
Yeah, seems pretty much like the ideal most communists speak of.
UT citizens have public ownership of everything in their lives as it is all government run, and there are no private companies.
Now, not sure if I’m being pedantic and maybe I’m misunderstanding but communism doesn’t mean that people have public ownership of everything, just industry. Factories, farms sure. Your toothbrush? No.
Thanks for the feedback, and yes, that’s what I meant, land, industry, services, etc are public while each animal owns their own stuff.
Sorry to nitpick but I wouldnt put “ideal” and “communist” in the same sentence. Communists are materialist, which is basically the opposite.
“Revolutionary ideals reach higher than the heavens. Without lofty ideals, you do not reach the standards of a Communist Party member.”
That was from XJP by the way. Ideals are fine. Communist parties have ideals. Idealism is the thing a communist should shun.
Fair enough, I cant disagree with Xi Jinping.
Of course you can. Way I see it is it’s just some goal that we can continuously move toward even if we never get there. I mean we aren’t gonna look back down the road and find that we’ve improved people’s lives for nothing are we? Great revolutionaries talk about this great feeling of love that guides them to do what they do. It’s not the most materialist reason but I think we’re allowed to be spiritual sometimes.
I’m currently writing a story that has communist elements in it, though I mostly leave it in the background.
Maybe we can share tips and tricks of the trade? I’m about 10 pages into my story so maybe I should wait until I’m further in, but I’d like some advice, if you have the time.
Granted, I’m nowhere near experienced at writing communism either, but feel free to message me!
Sure thing. Let me attend to some things and I’ll get back to you.
