something mildly funny is watching mexican-american diaspora (especially the one that descends from mexican petty bourgeoisie, not the working class migrants), which supported the far-right party in mexico, be crying about donald trump. bruh your mexican far-right party literally bows down to donald trump and wants them to invade mexico 😂

DankZedong here. Unfortunately I got logged off Lemmygrad and forgot my password lol. I am trying my best to remember it but I can’t seem to get it right.

Today at work at had some sort of drag moment in which I adapted the persona of a modern day, female Che called Slay Guevara which I figured is a cool username.

Anyway the past two weeks have been utterly shit but I keep going

I just learned about a Chinese rival to OpenAI called DeepSeek. Gonna use that instead if I ever need to consult an AI lol.

edit: It does seem to lack some capabilities that Chatgpt has like proving links + when i ask when it will make certain updates to it’s application, it says “Hi! I’m DeepSeek-V3, an artificial intelligence assistant created by DeepSeek. For comprehensive details about our models and products, we invite you to consult our official documentation.”

What’s ppls thoughts on Deepseek-R1, while I’ve heard chatter that it is a challenger to OpenAI O1 I’m not super knowledgeable on the technicalities of LLMs, but I’ve tried it, and it is fascinating to see its thought chain.

Libs are worried about it, reference: https://analyticsindiamag.com/ai-news-updates/deepseek-crushes-openai-o1-with-an-mit-licensed-model-developers-are-losing-it/

So my experience right now with using & reading about AI and the opinions and feelings from people about the AI is that China is still a little bit behind, but catching up so insanely fast that everybody should just agree that they’re already ahead of the United States and that the race is on. (Oh and they’re running on last year’s hardware because they’re banned from getting the latest Nvidia chips, so they’re actually training better AI, with weaker processors, and less data. Though they are probably leveraging ChatGPT for some data generation, which is what most people who build open models do anyway.)

Eric Schmidt was a previous CEO of Google, and still a board member. 9 Months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/singularity/comments/1cnce06/eric_schmidt_says_the_us_is_23_years_ahead_of/ Last month: https://thehill.com/policy/technology/5042031-artificial-intelligence-danger-eric-schmidt/

Eric is about as libed up as you can get (Co-wrote a book with Henry Kissinger…) So if he admits that China has caught up and will surpass us, it’s because the evidence is OVERWHELMING. This would be the equivalent of orthodox Jews admitting that Israel is committing a genocide. If THEY are saying it, it’s been true for a LOOONG time and is undeniable.

Also, they are open sourcing their models, which is freaking awesome. Anyone can use the absolute massive beast of R1 and compete with o1 directly, without even training their own models.

Also Colloquially, AI’s trained in China absolute dominate the open source rankings. Qwen2.5, DeepSeek 3, DeepSeek R1, QwQ (Qwens equivalent to R1) and derivatives from these lead almost every category. LLama (Facebook) is right behind though. For small models, Phi (Microsoft) is up there (Good for running on your phone or laptop, but not the smartest).

AI moves so fast that by the time you’re done reading this something will be out of date 🙃

You mean that the Chinese Communists are so hard working and innovative that they are gaining the support of the invisible hand to get promoted into key position of Pax Americana and reviving of fear of red scare that would rule over lazy Capitalists who gain success through plutocracy? Is that why Donald Trump is openly calling for annexation of Canada and Mexico unlike other Pax Americana politicians who only annex countries of people of color and engage in debt trapping and coerced economic dependency covertly?

AHA! I just saw DeepSeek and came here. Looks like other people are interested as well. It’s funny to see how they spit out different responses to a question like “why did october 7 happen”. You can kinda guess what ChatGPT would say lmao.

I would watch a lot more sports if I didn’t have to deal with shady buffering streams and bad internet. Tried to watch the women’s Australian Open final, but it was unwatchable. Luckily the internet is better now, so the stream works better now.

I really should get some sport subscriptions.

Reading the bible and to me, Matthew 24:34 completely proves that christianity is a fake religion. There Jesus says that the second coming will when some people that are alive now, are still alive. In other words, the second coming should have come a log time ago and that it hasn’t happened now means that Jesus was lying.
