I’m not that familiar with western television/movie culture, so I probably missed an even worse example, but…
…how the heck do these people find a frigging Sith Lord, an automated killing machine, and a drug dealer as “literally me”?
John Wick, Equalizer, Saul, Indiana Jones, Agent J, Star Lord and Bully Maguire are the only ‘‘close to normal’’ guys on the list.
Who are Equalizer, Agent J, and Bully Maguire?
Denzel Washington is the Equalizer, right next to John Wick, he’s badass assassin who kills rapists and human traffickers, Agent J is Will Smith in Men in Black and Bully Maguire is Tobey Maguire’s Spider Man after being infected with Venom, he becomes kind of a dick to literally everyone and does that dance, but that’s about it:
I’d say Jesse is ‘close to normal’
Agree, I understand Jesse also.
cuz quirky and cool
He likes killing children?
There’s Anakin, but on the other hand Gus Fring is missing. Hard to say.
sometimes I wonder if I’m genuinely a “good” person or at least have the aspiration to become one, then I am reminded that actual adults like this exist.
You experience the contradiction between your ideal self versus what you know you are, but then realize that others ideal selves are far worse than the person you are now. That contradiction indicates that maybe you are actually a good person relative to at least these people.
tbh that was some insightful shit comrade
NP. You wouldn’t be hanging out here in good faith unless you at the very least trying to be a good person. I know you are going through some shit right now. Hang in there comrade!

Precisely, hence the square quotes - part of the human contradiction innit.
My literally me characters:

Who "literally me"s Darth Maul? He had virtually no characterization in the movie whatsoever besides a cool aesthetic.
Probably just ‘badass aesthetic and fighting techniques’.
