IIRC the whole “Russian soldiers are rapists” atrocity propaganda trope started with the Nazis (like most anti-Soviet/Russian bs).
Germans still think the Soviets “raped their way” to Berlin, but the evidence suggests that it’s pure projection.
Anything that fits into the “slobbering horde of barbarians” narrative. It’s insane to me that people can simultaneously believe that the Russians are an insane pack of murdering, raping criminals but also that they’ve never won a single battle.
