Not that I like the guy, I’m curious as to our thoughts on him.

I like how fervently he defended Stalin’s legacy in his writings and mannerisms. I dislike socialist Albania’s opportunistic relationship with China, and they really shit the bed when it came to the desperately needed proletarian internationalism at the time, doing little but isolating themselves from the socialist world in an attempt to stand atop the pedestal of being the most ideologically correct. Just dogmatism, even if I can understand their worries regarding the USSR and China’s thaw with Amerika.

Hoxha was right about the worm Khruschev, though.

I think he was a great anti-fascist revolutionary leader which ultimately degraded into dogmatic and opportunistic thinking, isolating Albania politically on the grounds of diverging ideologies.

Hoxha is probably going to be a trigger word for many people on this website

I think someone should’ve put a stop to his bunker obsession. I mean, 750.000. bunkers?! wtf?

Do you know if there was any theory or principle behind that policy? I presume it was for deterrence.

Well, whatever their intention was, it just ended up being a waste of money and resources.
