Having my succulent Chinese meal interrupted by an ad for a shitty app definitely makes me want to use it. Not.

First Japan commandeers Chinese food with their fortune cookies and now this?

(Yeah, for people who don’t know, fortune cookies are not Chinese and only became permanently synonymous with Chinese food in the West because white people can’t don’t bother to tell Eastern cultures apart.)

The last time I got “Chinese” food around 2 years ago, the fortune cookie was shilling crypto and NFTs, and selling plasma for money. I lost my appetite and haven’t had Chinese since.

Ironically I hadn’t had American style Chinese like this in forever and was craving it as a weekend treat, but back to the Sichuan restaurants I guess. At least the laziji doesn’t come with an ad.

That sounds pretty good honestly, authentic Chinese is leagues better anyways. It’s just a little disappointing as I am in a very rural, underdeveloped, and backwoods area, so the nearest authentic Chinese restaurant is a 1 hour drive away.

However if you are interested, American Chinese is pretty easy to cook, and the homemade versions are incredible! Plus you can make a whole weeks worth of food for the same price as one takeout plate!
