The claim is from some anarchist podcast I was listening to. They also claimed he’d give, people small concessions to people on the condition they’d keep him in power. (They’ve plugged Robert Evans a couple of times which makes me suspicious)

Least favorite thing when talking about people like him with comrades is when they respond with stuff like “I ignore all of his (blankety blank) but still find his (foreign policy/internal policy/economic criticisms/war coverage) useful.” especially with spooks like Evans. The thing about propagandists, especially with connections to the state department, is that they’re trained to wriggle insidious misinformation into your brain whether you’re aware of it or not, and they’re brilliant at spinning things you agree with into things you would normally disagree with, especially after they’ve already garnered some level of respect from you. There are journalists who make the same correct points as Evans, articulate them better, and aren’t partners-in-crime with U.S. intelligence.

So many just on the edge of becoming principled Marxists get lulled in by a lack of extreme critical thinking combined with cooptation of leftist sounding rhetoric unfortunately. Stopped listening to Blowback, even though it’s a valuable resource for libs and some communists, because they misinterpreted a lot of details regarding Hussein’s rise (painting him as some sort of cartoon villain) and their comedic tone left me feeling dirty. I haven’t listened to more than one or two episodes, but S3 deals with the Korean War and talks about Kim Il-sung at some length – I’m uninspired in believing that they don’t have some whacky, off-colour remarks about him or the Korean revolution sourced straight from the state department.
Maybe it’s unfair, but my bullshit detector was going off the charts. Some comrades of mine treat it like it’s the second coming of socialist Jesus, not realizing that they’re being fed insidious misinformation from folks merely pretending to be experts. There are much better and more informed resources for this kind of stuff, and I’m confident in principled Marxists’ ability to find it. It’s just that shit like this pushes well-meaning people in way the wrong direction.

Robert Evans, the Wikipedia reading anarchist fed.
Robert Evans used to work for Bellingcat, which even the New York Times admits is a glowy media outlet
Another thing is they seem to think the Syrian civil war could basically happen in the us
It’s not much of a civil war if one side was trained and funded by a foreign country

They seem to think the religious and urban/rural relations are directly comparable along with a lot of people in both countries being on the brink of poverty. They also think that both assads have direct comparisons with trump.
Yep, my first and only whole podcast ever listened to, sent me on a doomerism spiral for 2 years until I discovered MLism
