I can’t stress how terrible screens are. I think it’s also the combination of being sitted down and having entertainment available through the screen though. But I’ve spent some time without much access to a computer (just my phone and you get through that quickly) and I slept so much better, at more regular times.

Doing sports helps too, and a technique I found to fall asleep was to start thinking about something like my day tomorrow, or what I have planned for next week, or remembering a memory like my vacation or something. Somehow it just makes me “disassociate” and I don’t even notice I’m in bed anymore, I’m completely absorbed. Then I fall asleep.

Your pillow and mattress is also super important. Mattress is up to personal preference but you need to try a soft and firm mattress to know. I prefer firmed – your weight will be in your hips, that’s where you’ll sink on the mattress, and it needs to actually support that weight.

Your pillow should be firm. I used to wake up with headaches because I sank in my shitty pillow. I moved to a foam pillow (doesn’t have to be memory foam) and I’ve never had that problem again.

Recently read again my “therapy notes” where I self-assessed and rated my self-care/health. I noticed that I gave it a higher rating just last week than months ago :)
