Obviously another breach of international law.

It’s so surreal, even if they intended to keep half of Gaza it wouldn’t be worth it, and the official explanation that they would be safer by killing more people than they ever did since the Nakbah doesn’t hold, they’ll be hated even more for decades. Such disproportionate reaction doesn’t make sense.

Israel has proven time and time again that they don’t care about international law or any UN resolution. So they’re murdering those who speak out against them. Libs are accusing AES countries of killing people in numbers that isn’t even possible, yet when Israel does it, it’s somehow okay. The West is truly a cancer for this entire planet.

Why would they, the US has shown that they will back them up in anything/everything they do. As long as they have their pocket veto, the UN is functionally useless (big shock). It’s like a rich parent bailing their kid out everytime he bullies someone at school.

Damn, I guess 88 UN aid workers shouldn’t have all personally joined Hamas as senior commanders.

That’s the pipeline from Special Rapporteur to Special Rocketeer.

They can claim the civilians they kill are actually Hamas fighters, or that they’re being used as human shields, but this shows the truth of it. At best they’re killing indiscriminately.

I think that’s likely, but it’s impossible for us to know with certainly what’s a deliberate strike vs. an indiscriminate one.

Even in the most generous light Israel is still in the wrong. I think that’s usually a better position to take than even well-founded speculation about just how bad they are, because the later invites argument from anyone who doesn’t already agree with you. Then you’re arguing over something that doesn’t really matter (because Israel is wrong whether they’re intentionally targeting civilians or just not caring who they kill) instead of keeping the focus on how Israel is wrong.

Well, did those bakers explicitly condemn Hamas? OBVIOUSLY they are making evil antisemitic bread.

Imagine if Russia did this during the first month of the offensive against Ukraine. Libs would be invading Biden’s office in the White house to get the nuclear launch codes and use them against Russia.

Yeah, and beyond the red line about Ukraine’s admission in n.a.t.o. that they’ve drawn more than a decade ago(, e.g., famous Munich speech of 2007)(, and nobody can increase their security at the expense of someone else, it has been repeated many times), these territories were still russian 32 years ago, and have been for centuries, i can understand why the local population would refuse to join anti-russians like the e.u. or the u.s.a.(, and has refused multiple times in referendums that were never obeyed by the oligarchs controlling Ukraine, it may be a more complicated relationship i don’t live there, but i’d proudly be russo-ukrainian rather than americano-ukrainian). Ukraine was given the option to avoid the war with Russia by taking into account the latter’s security. Etc.
Hard to compare with ‘the west’/Israel who stole the holy lands who belonged to muslims for 1500 years, just like during the failed crusades, and we(sterners) don’t give any alternative, and Israel is just killing so many more civilians in order to kill Hamas, as if killing their leader would be anything more than symbolic, as if they were indeed somehow increasing their defense by doing so, as if they had the moral right to act as such, as if we(sterners) shouldn’t offer a territory in exchange instead of arrogantly taking everything.

A friend of mine is currently working for the UN in Gaza, she’s been there for a while. They’re fairly limited in what more help they can be though, since they can’t get supplies in for the most part.
She’s pregnant too, just to make things even worse.

She has reached out a couple times on social media (and one mutual “friend” asshat actually had the nerve to ask if she condemned Hamas) so I think she is still okay, but it has to be absolutely terrifying. The conditions look awful, you’d be hard-pressed to tell who were the relief workers and who were the relief recipients.

Smh I can’t believe that Hamas killed 44 UN aid workers in Israel or that Israel had 44 UN aid workers helping all those settlers choose and decorate their new homes. What a world.
