so is the point here that the nazis were actually multicultural and diverse or something? i have no clue what the message here is supposed to be, because i’m sure that nazis wouldn’t be too enthusiastic about presenting themselves as ethnically diverse lol

Their moronic point they are legitimately trying to make is “The teachers said they would genocide everyone that didn’t fit in their narrow definition of Aryan, but in reality they were ready to fight alongside (nevermind that they were literally segregated and would never ACTUALLY fight alongside them) these foreigners towards a common goal…of something… not sure what but definitely not more genocide.”

yea they wanna show that they weren’t racist or something. Despite the fact that Fascists consider being called Racist a compliment and a badge of honor. I really don’t know what Original OP would do with that Cognitive Dissonance lol

The teachers didn’t ‘lie’ so much as they oversimplified the situation, which is all part of the job when you work in mainstream education. They keep things short and present a very basic overview of the situation, so the reason that they normally overlook the soldiers of color in the Wehrmacht is obvious: they were the exception to the rule. Every historian will tell you that the average Wehrmacht soldier was a white, male gentile. Even pro‐Axis intellectuals like David Irving can agree with that.

This is not to say that it’s worthless to learn about the men of color, women, and Jews who worked for the Axis: that even victims can be manipulated into serving their oppressors is an important lesson indeed, but petty‐bourgeois and upper‐class educators can’t be trusted to bring such context and circumspection to the topic.

Real leap of faith for this person to believe that the Nazis didn’t think the foreign fighters were below them according to their eugenics

Yeah, this image is spread around by weirdo reactionaries (AKA all reactionaries) to try to claim that diversity and immigration are both part of Nazi ideology and therefore allowing it in their country is akin to Nazism. It’s a strange view point, but what can you truly expect from these people?
