For years tankies kept saying that no, Russia won’t take over Europe, the US is the biggest threat, and you were called a Russian bot for it

Now Trump has shared a vid of him literally planting a flag on Greenland and calling it a US territory

And there’s my dad saying that Trump’s actions will lead to Putin occupying the whole of Europe. Some people never learn

Yeah it’s the ultimate braindead take of ‘Putin actually controls Trump so it’s still his fault’

Well, that’s actually a realistic possibility.

After losing Greenland, and perhaps something else to their masters, europe might decide to “take measures into their own hands” and attack Russia, at which point Russia may end up taking everything there in some way.

The funniest part is that Trump is literally using the argument that the US has to take Greenland because Europe can’t secure it against Russia and China. Like he’s directly leaning into the whole narrative. It’s absolutely hilarious how Europe played itself here.

putin brained eurolibs still insist that the real long-term threat is russia and china, while being disgusted by the US. they’re hopeless.

I mean they built their whole identity on justifying appeasing the US based on hating Russia and China

“No, you don’t understand, the US is good and noble and our ally actually, it’s just that Trump is a Russian agent that is trying to sabotage our unbreakable friendship to help Putin invade us” – Probably the average response/rationalisation for it.

Literally was told this a couple days ago from a brainwashed colleague (in a European country that was a recipient of US “nation building”)

And if recent events still won’t convince them otherwise it just goes to prove that they weren’t brainwashed to begin with (if rationalising Ukrainian nazis and clapping for them, while denigrating palestinian fighters against genocide, wasn’t enough). There’s literally a live example of their purported paradigms coming to shatters which would logically dictate that they should change their worldview but if they don’t then it is because they exist along the axis of perceived benefit as (sub)imperialists; they were intelligently seeking narratives as license for their bigotry.

It doesn’t matter, it’s still going to be Russia’s fault somehow.

I think we’re spending too much time trying to argue with wolfs in sheep’s clothing

Absolutely. One of the reasons fascism and pro-US imperialist-cheering are on a meteoric rise in recent decades, is that they get a monopoly on selling their ideology. Especially fascists are extremely proactive at reaching out to the common people and convincing them to support them. In Europe, all left parties either decided to insulate themselves from all outsider contact, for fear of putting off people, or they decided they wanted to act like responsible “adult politicians”, making themselves appear another part of the system. When the economic crisis hit Europe, the fascists were running around blocking banks from confiscating properties, distributing food and clothing to the poor, finding jobs for the unemployed, and supporting families in need.

it seems that there’s people making a weird rule of three:

trump invaded europe in their fascist ambitions

trump is seen as a russian agent by liberals

ergo, putin invaded russia because the US would never invade

    it’s so ridiculous

im very familiar with desperate lib cognitive dissonance on both sides of the coin but my fave part is when they just get openly conspiratorial in ways that are identical to any RFK-pilled antivaxxer maga guy. seriously it is so fucking beyond parody how libs of any VBNMW variety are just categorically unwilling/unable to acknowledge there is no difference between them and maga beyond the surface level, it really drives me nuts

Guess it’s time to expand the Russian joke about Putin being the god of Ukraine, on account of him living rent free in Ukrainians’ heads…

You know, what with the whole “Trump does it to protect Greenland against Russia” thing.
