This makes me wonder, are there actual Chinese or Russian bots or troll accounts active?

I think I have yet to see an actual one. Nor have I, in my time of defeding Communism, China and even Russia from time to time, been contacted to do paid shitposting online.

So, where are these institutions that hand out money?

Idk where those institutions are but I can tell you that the US and Israel have paid troll armies.

Awesome. So far I’m only getting death threats and no monies.

Can’t say for Chinese, but there are definitely Russian ones. I’ve seen some on runet sites, i.e. Lenta and Pikabu. Why do I think they were bots? Different accounts posting an exact same text.

Not when it is presented as the person’s opinion. Although I understand what you mean

Just rationally speaking, wumaos do not exist. First of all, they would either be way too expensive or too cheap for anyone to want to do it (and they supposedly have “millions of wumaos” or something) and there are no documents AT ALL from the Chinese government about or referencing the wumaos. How the “wumaos” are paid is also a mystery, because they’re not in the state budget. There’s no proof that Chinese trollfarms exist
