I got in touch with a friend from uni who now lives in the EU and he’s asking me for evidence of the far-right problem in Ukraine’s government and military. This has been so evident to me for a while now that I don’t have anything off the top of my head. Can anyone provide any quick links that are a good introduction for a newbie?
Basically find articles and news on Ukraine before the SMO, and you’ll find tons of them, even in western-sponsored media.

Honestly I would go with basic western news sources that reported on it before the CIA asked them to stop reporting the fascism upon the war starting. The VICE video about it is alright-ish, and also probably something they’ll not be sceptical of. (if they’re a lib)
It’s hard for say ‘normies’ to notice the far right tendencies from Ukraine because they never outright declare themselves as fascist, but their speech and iconography is full of far right dogwhistles.
Yeah. I’ve sent him everything here but he refuses to believe it’s a significant problem. He’s got his head stuck in the sand. It’s frustrating. Especially because we studied philosophy together, it’s like he forgot how to think properly.
He just got his citizenship and he’s worried but willing to defend his new country against Russian aggression lol. The brainwashing is uncanny.

indeed, he’s very cool. A little bit on the philosophical and advanced theory side for me (as in more likely to want to talk about Deleuze or Althusser than Stalin or Lenin) but he’s a good comrade.
I should also note, as is evidenced by his pinned comment, that he’s got some takes I disagree with heavily regarding Russia and rising multipolarity generally.

Obviously ukraine has a far right problem, but in what context has it become such an important topic in your debate, if i may ask?
We reconnected after a year and I asked how he was doing and he brought up that he was worried about the war reaching his country. He said he would fight and then asked me if I would and I said no because I wouldn’t fight for the unjust side. And then it proceeded from there. So he brought it up not me. I’m not just trying to push it on him.
He’s hasn’t really been taking anything I sent him very seriously. He’s arguing in bad faith and cherry-picking things out of context, and blatantly ignoring the genocide that has been happening in the Donbas for the last eight years. I called him out on it and asked him what he had to say about that but he hasn’t responded. I’ve been very civil so either I finally got him and he’s reflecting or he’s given up and thinks I’m crazy.
