Ukraine was winning so much they got tired of winning and decided to lose one just for a change of pace.
There’s a lot of that, actually.
Fighting is still going on in Soledar, in the form of surrounded and disorganized Ukrainian pockets. The Russian military has given them an ultimatum, we shall see.

Is the stuff I’ve heard about Wagner being Nazis just more disinfo BS?
Wagner is known to occasionally subcontract jobs to a bunch of neo-nazis that call themselves the “Rusich”, but since Rusich is entirely seperate from Wagner and Wagner itself isn’t a part of the Russian military, it’s just not the same as Azov battalion, an official part of the AFU. So no, Wagner itself is not neo-Nazi, most of them are communists and liberals, with tsarists sprinkled liberally throughout.

I think there are a few more Ukrainian soldiers fighting around in Soledar, they are surrounded and have ultimatum tho: to retreat in one way/try fighting and get killed that’s left or surrender, I guess I know which one will happen but let’s see.
