Wholly uncritical, unconditional support to the Texans in their attempts to balkanize the Great Satan, just do it already! All these reactionaries are sowing are the seeds for imperialism’s demise.

Does anyone know how much nuclear infrastructure is in there?

In case they secesseed they may not be able to take the nukes or they might have to give them later, but even if they keep them it might not be easy to take control of them unless they already have some infrastucture to do it. Although, if things get violent in a possible secessionist scenario, there would also be a possibility that such infrustructure or the nukes themselves get bombed before they can be used.

Either way, hope they actually try to get out.

Virtually all of it. The Pantex plant where the overwhelming majority of nuclear weapons are assembled and disassembled is in the Texas Panhandle.

        FIFY

Texas seceding would instantly start rapid balkanization of, if not civil war throughout, the country, and that would cost a lot of people a lot of money. It’ll never happen, but if it does, stock up on beans and bullets.

The oligarchs likely figure they can exploit people and resources easier without federal oversight.

In Texas they are building a large artillery shell factory for Ukraine…I wonder if there are other reasons as well.

Just wait until the then-president pulls a Trudeau (Senior) by declaring martial law to put an end to the separatists.

Better yet, just wait until the then-president pulls a Elensky Special™ and keeps martial law up to remain POTUS indefinitely. I could see either side being driven to do this at this point tbh (to avoid prosecution)

I wonder, if Biden did declare martial law, if it would cause civil war to break out…
