China: focuses on saving lives, also grows their economy.
US: focuses on saving the economy, says “screw it” to people’s lives, ends up saving neither.
American system is a shitshow while China’s one is a superior one from every angle. So it was expected
America’s response is even worse than this in some minority communities.
The west’s response to the virus has been nothing but contradictory. There were lockdowns where people still had to show up for work, possibly using crowded public transport to reach their destination. Once they left work though they couldn’t even go for a walk legally. It was all a big fuck you to workers.
I feel like China’s measures might have been harsh at times, but they have been more consistent, and more effective than the ones applied in the west.
